Double Fort This is the first map I've made in Halo: Reach, inspired by the map 2fort from Team Fortress 2 (another game that I'm a huge fan of). It is designed to be a pseudo-symmetrical map for CTF, Slayer, and just about every gametype I can fit in there. I say pseudo-symmetrical because while each base has a near identical layout, Red Base is built to have a technological feel to it, while Blue Base has a more primitive look. Red Base Blue Base The center of the map has three layers: The middle, where most of the action will be taking place The top of the bridge, high ground accessible via man cannons in either base The trench, a lower area providing both an escape route and an alternate path into either base. The bases themselves also have three layers corresponding to the layers in the middle, with the flag rooms on the bottom floors, but separated such that you have to access them from the upper two floors. Red Flag Room Blue Flag Room I haven't decided on exact weapon & spawn placements yet, and the map really needs a better name, but it is coming along quite nicely, and I would like to know what you guys here thought about it so far. Any critiques or comments are welcome.
I love TF2 as well. I think it's a great idea. Hope it turns out well; CTF could be really fun on it. I don't have much advice, just keep up the good work!
I immediately thought of two fort, which made me instantly dislike this map. While TF2 is a great game, 2F is a very poor map. There's only two ways into the enemies base, above and below. Both are in plain sight of enemies, and are often camped. Not only that, but snipers on 2F's ledges can only really shoot at eachother. Unless this is vastly different from two fort, i'm not gonna DL. Sorry man, maybe next time. (However, i have to say i can see some pretty clean forging there )
Yeah, 2fort is a pretty poor map in TF2, but that's because of sentry guns and explosive spam, things that don't exist in Halo. I think the basic premise translates well, though. Its not an exact replica anyway. There is generally more room to move around, and the flag rooms are much easier to get to, being accessible from the main floor instead of just the top.

Keep up the good work. The map is looking great it looks similar to Team Fortress's 2 Fort but you are adding your own things and keeping it original instead of making an exact replica. I enjoy playing map remakes a lot more when people make it original. The map is probably going to have the same feel to it but will not have the same game play because this is Halo: Reach not Team Fortress 2. If you haven't already you should probably make the roof to the bridge smaller or longer or something so you can jump on it from the battlements like on 2 Fort. But if you have gotten really far in making the map to where you cant do this it is fine how it is. Like i said before the map is looking great keep up the good work, I can't wait until it is done.

Woah, Double Fort ALL THE WAY. Sorry couldn't resist. It look really clean, I've never played TF2 but I'll give it a DL and take a look.
This map turned out pretty good and it looks a bit different than I expected. The map is kind of confusing and hard to find your way around at certain points when its your first time playing the map. The inside of the bases feel empty and needed some cover and scenery. I haven't played on it with friends yet so I will do that soon and give you my opinion on the game play.
