Hello, I am making a racetrack but I don't know how to make banks. Could someone please help me or give me a tutorial on how to do it? I would like to be able to do a regular bank turn and also know how to bank up and bank down. Thank You
Set the snap to 15 degrees and use the nudge tool to align it as you need. Try to always align the outside corner and make it touch the last outside corner. Try looking on youtube for guides.
When I put it on 15 degrees it looks really sloppy, I want it to be nice and smooth and also I don't see any tutorials for it.
These two guides on halotracks may help. Tutorial On How To Make A Curved Banked Turns - HaloTracks Tutorial on How to Make a Banked Wave - HaloTracks Also I found this youtube video. YouTube - Halo 3 Racetrack Tutorial::Banked Turns Just apply it to Reach.
Use the search button, I posted the answer to the same thing yesterday, and I'm not going to use the search button for you and post a nice little link. LOCK
I did use the search button and I saw what you posted before I even posted this. To be honest, your version of explaining how to bank turns sucked. I tried it and it's terrible. I did what the videos told me to do that B3NW posted and they helped. Thanks again B3NW =)
The way B3NW showed you is not an actual banked turn, not that it's bad. It just makes the high point of the turn curve up. Both ways work, but there is a noticeable difference between a banked and sloped (idk what else to call it) when driving. There are only a few maps I have ever seen a real banked turn on, but if you want you map to be great, I suggest trying it. Edit: In the future, bump the old thread instead of making a new one.
I don't see why you would need anything more than an example since you can just phase objects. The way I showed before is the only way I have ever found to start a banked turn. A nice banked turn 30 seconds into the video here.
