Back in Halo 3 in the 8v8 playlists, the occasional, once prevalent "Covie" variants of maps came up in the selection. However, it didn't give a full "Covie" feel, having only the vehicles be Covenant, while the weapons remained unchanged. Also, most players ran around with Spartan variants of armor. Now that Reach is out, a few doors are opened. Players can now play game-types which automatically change the players to Elites for that game-type. Also, the weapon selection for the Covenant side is stronger and broader, now including a DMR-like Needle Rifle, a Plasma Launcher that locks on, a Plasma Repeater that mimics the Assault Rifle, and the Plasma Pistol now has some teeth to it. Not to mention that the Reverent has been included in the vehicle selection. Do you guys think that "Covie" maps and game-types will work much better than what they did in Halo 3? Any plans to make "Covie" variants of your own (like me)?
I think it will definitely be a lot better then in Halo 3, but I can't try to make one any time soon myself, I have a barrage of stuff to make. I'll add it to my to-do list though, who knows, it might get done.
That would be pretty cool I must say. Their is Elite slayer so I wouldn't be surprised if the added BT slayer
I'm not sure coz my xbox is broke so i can't test it out, but i think if you were to use purple lights with the purple filter on, suddenly the forerunner pieces on forgeworld could look quite covie looking. I know you were talking about weapons and vehicles variants but i think it would be pretty nice if it went along with specific covie themed maps
