I know you were going for accuracy, and it really looks like you nailed it, but...man, those open spaces will NOT work well for Halo. In Counter-Strike, where running across an open space is dangerous and risky, it may be fine, but in Halo:Reach that much open space is simply going to be boring. Additionally, long slow ramps that change walking paths in C-S aren't going to do squat for a Spartan who can just jump the whole thing. Perhaps a reimagining rather than a remake? It's like making a book into a movie...if you're going to try to cross genres, you have to make it retain everything from the original source while still making it enjoyable in the new locale. Your attention to detail shows you're a very adequate Forger...maybe a facelift is all de_dust needs to not be LEFT in the dust. =)
The nice thing about halo is that you can change your settings though. Also with sprint you can cover the map a lot faster then you would in cs. If you're not using loadouts I would recommend the settings of 120% movement speed and 200% health with no shields.
That's a good point, Frost, but I would also recommend adjusting the gravity/jump height to also mirror C-S's physics. Also, consider creating your own gametype to go along with the map so that you won't just have to explain it to each person...they can just download the file and enjoy! =D
