Ignore everything else I said. Flashpoint and pumpkin are right. Hold down the LEFT(I thought they were saying the right one before) thumbstick, and then RB/LB your object. Much more precise than coordinates or the guesswork of randomly hitting A during the move.

i have to agree, if they made it possible to go from Eg. 2.1 to 2.01 or even 2.001 it would make everything extremely accurate. while reach has enhanced the forge experience in many ways, it has also changed some key features of forge that i think is essential to making a good looking well kept map. so while this game has made lazy forgers ( such as myself ) more happy, they have also made me extremely aggravated because its harder to do the essential things from halo 3 now then it was in halo 3. which is a let down :(

Here's a thought of a possible solution, though I haven't tested to be sure.

How about making the object you want "fixed" and pulling a block on the platform you want to line it up with? Then move it to that height by pushing it against the bottom of the block you placed. Then delete the block on top, set the object you want to "phased", and move the peice horizontally into position.

Example: (Exclude periods, they're just spacers)

    1. You want these to line up, right?
    ....................|
    ............|

    2. Put a guide block on top of the peice at the right height.

    ..............BLOCK
    ....................|
    ..............|

    3. Push the piece you want up into the block.

    ..............BLOCK
    ..............|......|

    4. Slide the piece over into postion. Delete block.

    ....................||

(Theoretically the pieces in the example would me perfectly fused, both horisontally and vertically.)

It might work. What do you guys think? Possible Reach tool?

I use the bumpers and time the A button to line things up. It's never taken me any longer than 10 seconds to line something up perfectly. Quite easy and no hassles.

Clicking the right stick should make moving up and down more precise.
