So as we all know not that most of us have forged in Reach is that it is very different. There are many different options and items, so i'm looking for some people to play forge and just learn what everything does. After that i will post my ultimate guide to Halo Reach forge. Send me a message/friend request if you would like to help. GT: TheHatofWin
I'll help. But really there is no ultimate guide to forge. Its designing that makes a map good not the forging. But, I will help anyways.
I want to warn you about how incredibly massive of a task that will be. I spent over 10,000 words just on weapons alone (check my siggy for proof!) and that is only a small fraction of what makes forge. The ultimate guide would cover everything in 100% detail which is borderline insane. However, if you do manage to somehow do it then i def. wanna be invited to the afterparty
I'm in for a while, at elast. Going to uni this Satirday - probably won't be able to help much after then But I already have some tips and stuff.
I'm basically trying to explain a lot of the objects, (soft kill barriers, safe havens, spawn zones, etc.) how and when to use them effectively, the tools of forge, and anything else i would need to include to make a guide to making your maps the best they can look, not play. This isn't a gameplay guide, this is a forge guide. I know that the two both come into play, but this is just figuring out how to use forge to its greatest extent.
Write individual articles and show them to insane. If he likes them it might go in a new f101 section for reach. Just letting you know I think ching chong kid has switches covered so focus on something else.
Here is something to get you started Hat. If anyone is having trouble figuring out how to place the objectives other than the flag spawn, capture point and hill markers, what you have to do is in the menu change the game type to the one you are wanting to set up, then place the capture plate. press X while holding it or hovering the reticule over it to go into object options. Go to advanced and then change the Game Type Label to Oddball_Ball to get the oddball to spawn on it for example. Don't know if you can use the same plate for multiple game types though.
I will help if you want... i am new to the site but i have forged for a long time. And i have messed with reach's forge a bit.
