This was the first I ever made on gimp, I used the tuts from here :3

And this was the one I made alone while still using the things I learned

I would love some feedback or comments to tell me if they are any good, also, I can't figure out how you guys make the renders in your signatures look so "HD" to put it in lame-mens terms, any suggestions?

For the second one, imo, I would move your name to the left side of Kat's neck.

I'll try that next time, it's just this time I made a rookie mistake of not saving the actual work itself so I cant re-edit the layers >.<

I made a new one using mace's tutorial and it's possible to edit this one so... CnC?

*btw, i can't post multiple threads right?*

    Here it is:

You can do multiple threads for different works if you so choose.

    First Sig:
The render should be more to the forefront, it is sorta LQ because of the effects over him. The text is hard to read and should not be in a corner.

    Second sig:
Need to work on lighting, there is no obvious direction of light. Also the render is blurry.
Text again should be more visible.

    Third Sig:
Text AGAIN, should be visible, and not at an angle.
Effects are good, but the C4Ds should be tuned down a bit, (lower opacity) because they draw the eye off the focal.

I prefer simple borders, one colour (I prefer black or white) and no influence on the picture. (I see a slight glow and shadow to the border)

To get your render to be HQ (High Quality) try get a stock that was big, and high quality, then resize to fit the space you are working with. I also like to work with a big canvas, then resize when finished to get your desired size. Also don't put as many modification layers over the render as you would the BG, which is why your first sig was LQ, as it had all the modifications in front of the render.

Wow that pretty much answers all my questions for a while, thank you very much.
Next time I come back I hope I'll have made it to your expectations ^.^

if you want a higher quality save the pictures as a .png i've noticed that you use jpg, and while that's good for sharing pictures because of the low file size it compresses the image and makes it less clear. so just save your files in gimp like so:

    nameOFfile.png

    and it should help

I like the third one the best. It is a little effect heavy, but its still pretty cool. Text should not be aligned strangely though, in most cases it works so much better flat.
