CoD Map Remakes

    I know that CoD and Halo games play differently and I know that Halo gameplay has a lot more map movement, but I have seen some CoD maps forged on Sandbox and they work well. Here is a preliminary list of all the CoD maps I think would have at least mediocre play in Halo. (Keep in mind you would only use Sprint Loadout)

    CoD 4:
    • Ambush
    • Backlot
    • Bog
    • Crash
    • Downpour
    • Pipeline
    • Strike
    MW2:
    • Afghan
    • Derail
    • Quarry
    • Sub Base
    • Fuel (resurgence map pack)
    Like I said, I predict most of these maps would play like **** in Halo. However, I can make a pretty good guess of the ones that would play well.
    -Ambush: I made a Sandbox map on Ambush and if you make it large enough (entire Crypt) then it plays well. The only thing to be addressed is a couple buildings with one entrance.
    -Bog: Enough sightlines with enough cover. This map would be large enough for 3v3 at least You would only need to knock some walls out of the two side buildings to prevent an insane cluster f***.
    -Downpour: Enough long sightlines on this map and the few buildings that you can go in are rather open so no close combat.
    -Pipeline: Phenominal multiflag if you went from the hill side to the train side (end to end of the map longways) as long as you got rid of the basement cuz that would be too thin and long of a hallway for halo.
    -Strike: great sightlines and enough elevation change. The only thing that would need to be blocked off would be the snipers nest overlooking the statue.
    -Derail: could have good end to end multiflag, you would somehow have to open up the middle building and remove the third floor from the building in the back by the trains and jeeps.
    -Quarry: If you removed some of the random 3rd and 4th floors then this map would play well in Halo. It has some great circular map flow which is what CoD gameplay requires and what Halo gameplay sometimes lacks.
    -Fuel: I would only make this for 8v8. If u dont have the resurgence map pack, then check this map out on youtube. It would be MW2's forgeworld map. Unnecessarily large, but in Halo it would have some great gameplay as long as some buildings were blocked. I dont think the Island could even hold a map this big though.

    Comments? Do u think this is a crappy idea? R there some maps that u think would be better? Im open to discussion.

    whenever i used to play mw2, i would usually play rust, since my brother is a camper, and he cant hide much in rust.

    so that quickly became a favorite map of mine.

    i would probably love it more with the forge graphics and gameplay style.

    What are these successful recreations of CoD maps that have been made on sandbox? I have yet so see one that even approaches fully recreating any map other than shipment. Generally the most people do is create something with general inspiration from a CoD map since with three times the jump height and less than a tenth of the weapon damage, not to mention lacking ADS ability on all but a few guns, gameplay is entirely different. I have never see an successful remake of anything outside of the Halo series

    ok so maybe I overstated the similarities. Maybe this whole thing was a **** idea. But that is pretty much what I meant that the remakes r heavily influenced by the originals and have the same layout. And they do work better than u would think. If you've only seen 1 remade, and it worked great, then why do all the other ones have to suck? Anyway, its just an idea for the 30000 or more people that are going to forge for the first time and have no clue what to make their map of. I agree that they r completely different though.

    I had a plan of re-making every single dlc map from MW2 and selling them for free dollars, Just to be a jerk to fans of that game. :) (Nothing personal against them, i just found it odd that they pay that much for extensions of a broken as hell multiplayer.)

    OnTopic: pyro and Crash are right though. The games are simply too different for direct remakes to successfully function at all.
    Halo requires more "dance floor".

    erm, you cant sell them. if you did, you would have to send it to people via file share, which other people can always access.

    Search Shipment, by MetaWaddleDee. One of the greatest Halo 3 maps to date, and it just happens to be a perfect remake of Shipment from CoD:4. Halo may be a different game, but some maps work well regardless. Keep your idea alive.

    People need to crawl out from under this piss-blanket belief that you CANNOT have a CoD map play good in Halo. I for damn sure don't think, for a second, that Pipeline [just the way it is] would not play good in Halo. This goes for most of the CoD maps I've played. More so in Reach now with AA's. Cut a few out with custom game types (like the vertacality killer, Jetpack) and you have some decent-good gameplay. I wish to see some spot on remakes in Reach, so these non-believers can finally stfu.

    Aside from my rant, I wanna see Highrise :)
