Alright, here's my idea for a Halo: Reach Firefight gametype. I call it... Firefight Slayer. That's right, Firefight SLAYER. Basically, Firefight Slayer is SvE Slayer, except you can play it on Firefight maps! As you can guess, Firefight Slayer is a variant of Firefight Versus. Here's how it works: •2 versus 2 recommended, but 3 versus 1 will work too •1 team is Elites, 1 is Spartans •25 kills to win instead of 50 since there are only 4 players, not 8 •1 round •Unlimited lives and sets/rounds/waves •Time limit is 10 minutes •Dropships disabled •No NPCs (Grunts, Jackals, Brutes, Computer-Controlled Elites, etc.) Loadouts Spartans: •Title: Jet Pack - Primary Weapon: DMR - Secondary Weapon: Assault Rifle - Grenades: 2 Frags - Armor Ability: Jet Pack •Title: Sprint - Primary Weapon: DMR - Secondary Weapon: Assault Rifle - Grenades: 2 Frags - Armor Ability: Sprint •Title: Evade - Primary Weapon: DMR - Secondary Weapon: Assault Rifle - Grenades: 2 Frags - Armor Ability: Evade •Title: Active Camo - Primary Weapon: DMR - Secondary Weapon: Assault Rifle - Grenades: 2 Frags - Armor Ability: Active Camo •Title: Drop Shield - Primary Weapon: DMR - Secondary Weapon: Assault Rifle - Grenades: 2 Frags - Armor Ability: Drop Shield Elites: •Title: Jet Pack - Primary Weapon: Needle Rifle - Secondary Weapon: Plasma Repeater - Grenades: 2 Plasmas - Armor Ability: Jet Pack •Title: Sprint - Primary Weapon: Needle Rifle - Secondary Weapon: Plasma Repeater - Grenades: 2 Plasmas - Armor Ability: Sprint •Title: Evade - Primary Weapon: Needle Rifle - Secondary Weapon: Plasma Repeater - Grenades: 2 Plasmas - Armor Ability: Evade •Title: Active Camo - Primary Weapon: Needle Rifle - Secondary Weapon: Plasma Repeater - Grenades: 2 Plasmas - Armor Ability: Active Camo •Title: Drop Shield - Primary Weapon: Needle Rifle - Secondary Weapon: Plasma Repeater - Grenades: 2 Plasmas - Armor Ability: Drop Shield Tell me what you think. I know it's a stretch, but I'm hoping this will get into Matchmaking.
This seems like an interesting idea but the only problem is that I doubt Bungie has the option for no AI whatsoever. I guess this would be cool to play around on the firefight maps but then again you cant edit them so it would be a more free flowing experience rather than something designed around specific areas or paths that you would find in a normal multiplayer map. This also poses the problem that the essence of firefight maps is to defend and so one side will always have an advantage
why wouldnt they? its just as easy to code as 50% ai. and there is a good chance it will be included or something, nothing about this seems all that innovative. just firefight without AI. should be fun though, given we cant play multiplayer on most firefight maps. like, there will probably be a custom games version.
No, you can't play Firefight maps in Custom Games, period. The reason I'm making this gametype is to let players experience Firefight maps like they are Multiplayer maps. It's a very simple gametype, but could be really fun if you like Team Slayer (who doesn't?). And about the one-sided thing, look at Corvette. It's practically symmetrical. And maps like Boneyard and Spire are VERY one-sided, but yet Invasion Slayer works fine on them, which is basically a big-team SvE Slayer. So that shouldn't be too much of a problem.
i dunno, the firefight maps werent designed for multiplayer. im not sure how well theyd play. and most of them are too large for 4 players
Didn't I hear somewhere that Firefight Versus is un-editable? Anyways, if it is editable, that'd be a great idea
I've watched the leaks, seen the settings. The AI enemies can't be removed, you can only choose what they are.
only problem i see with this is regardless of the setting's, dont all covenent get dropped off via ship? so wouldnt the humans very easily win by killing them as soon as they got off the ship? or do the player controlled elites enter the game differently?
If there was a way that you could make the AI try to kill both Spartans and Elites then you could make a slayer gametype with a twist; where the goal is to reach the score limit like a regular 2v2 but at the same time you have to fight off the AI(kinda like Turok multiplayer with the dinosaurs). Do you get what I'm saying? Oh yea, and Evade is for elites only..
This doesn't have anything to do with Forge :S lol But Yeah this is a good idea, Since you can't have no enemy's use custom skull: Spartans Traits:Normal Elites Traits:Made to be exactly like Spartans(so the only difference between Spartans and elites are size) or leave them as elites for SvE Wave Traits:0% damage, Invincible health, Can't be assassinated, AI make them not shoot much and run away so they don't distract you to much.
So the only difference between this and Invasion Slayer is that you play on Firefight maps? Kind of a redundant game type since you can already play spartans vs elites in another game type.
That would be an interesting idea as long as you don't get points for killing the ai because then people wouldn't try to kill the others. Oh yea, and Evade is for both... (its in a couple of leaked videos.)
you could play it on the firefight maps... if for some reason somebody would want to do so. but you cant put on no AI anyway
