But if the defenders are hiding behind cover in the base, and the attackers are all spread out in the gulch, the chances of banking a grenade off cover, aiming it directly at an attacker, and knowing when to detonate the grenade without being able to see any of it, are slim to none. If the defenders are standing behind a piece of cover, they wouldnt be able to shoot their grenade launcher because it would bounce off the cover and come right back at them
Give the defenders camo so while killin them will be easy since they have no shields, aquiring the target will be difficult.

So there isn't cover in the base? they just have to keep moving and hope to not get sniped? Say they stand in a tower, then they will be crouching quite often because they will get sniped otherwise. or am I just being an idiot and not getting the idea of this map at all?
No, there will be cover in the base but the cover on the outside is mostly for the attackers and line of sight blockers. I think you or I just misread the others post.
I'd honestly say that the gametype sounds like it could have some potential for manic gameplay if developed right, but there would need to be some way of restricting where the "mortar" players can go, or else it wouldn't be mortars, it would be shotguns.
not really, because if the defender go outside their base, then they will be sniped quite easily and they will lose their height advantage and their "mortar" range will be halved
Yes, this would be quite a problem. And I have a map pack planned for this gametype I just haven't release any info on the other two maps. But, this is the solution.
