I heard that turtle beaches are a lot better than the xbox headsets and last a lot longer. Is this true? Should i buy one and which one?

    It depends on your budget.

Personally, I got the X11's, well, because of my budget. They give high quality sounds along with noises from the game (like Halo 3) you've never heard of before (possibly). My only complaint about the X11's is that the wires are a major major pain in the ass.

    / Miss Universe 2010 reference :D

As for the others, I have no strong opinion on them, but don't get the XLC's. They look horrid.

I don't really have a budget because i've been saving up for nothing so i have a lot of money. I heard that some don't work and i want to avoid those.

If you've got money, you might as well get them. Skullcandy makes an Xbox Live Headset that I hear is actually really good. But yeah, if you've got money you just wanna Blow, go for it get an expensive-ass mic.

I have XLCs, and they work absolutely fine. They're affordable (considering they're the same price as a Microsoft brand wireless mic), and the only real drawn back is the inability to change the volume of the Game and Voice chat individually, but for the most part, they're good if you don't want to pay the price of a new release game to get a stereo headset :/

Just today I actually went out and got me a pair of X11s. They're very comfortable, very light, and the dual channel game/chat volume comes in very handy. If you have the money, go for them instead of the XLC.

I have a pair of X41's, they're super comfortable but a little pricey. Quite a few settings on the mic that come in handy, like listening to your game through your mic, super handy because you can play it as loud as you want and people in the house won't get pissed at you. Also great for sound whoring in games like MW2 if thats what your into.

Anyways the X41's are a great buy, I've had mine for just about a year and I've had no problems at all.

The X11s are a solid headset for the price. Way, way better value than the trash that Microsoft sells.

My only complaint is that the overhead headband leaves an indent in my hair that looks stupid the rest of the day. So wear a hat if you go out after gaming.

Definitely check out steelseries. They make really great quality products. I have heard a lot of bad things about Turtle Beach and the build quality of their sets.
