Hello everyone, as i have tried and failed many times at making a good puzzle map, this time i feel that it is different (well at least in my eyes.) This new map is most likely my final puzzle map, depending on how im feeling later on. So i have worked hard on this one to try and make it good. I have spent the last 2 months planning this one out. I have spent only one month working on this, but it has been in intervals of around 18 hours, so it feels more like 3 months. and i have spent around a month in a half severly testing it to make sure that each challenge is possible and somewhat difficult. Facts: Now in my opinion these are very difficult challenges, but opinions differ. As far as i know each challenge is unique except for one. There are only 7 challenges in the map. Now, Now, i know most of you are saying that that is way too short. But!!!! if each challenge is done correctly and in custom games, this map can provide hours of fun. This map incorporates all 3 levels of sandbox. Pictures starting room challenge 1 challenge 2 challenge 4 challenge 5 (my favorite) the hubb (note if you just kill yourself in the starting room without unblocking the teleporter, you cant go anywhere in the hubb.) Hints Starting Room -The plasma grenades are really fun, but you need to use them in order to unblock challenge one. Challenge #1 -Visit here twice, and grab the needler, once to aid you, and another to send you higher. Challenge #2 -The turret, thought cheap, is a useful tool. use it three times to reach the crypt hole. Challenge #3 -Down the hole you need to go, but fire waits for you down below. Challenge #4 -The entire crypt is yours to roam, but now you must unblock challenge five's home. Challenge #5 -Jump, throw, jump to reach the sky, but now you must be able to fly. Challenge #6 -Grab the rifle and unblock the hub, but wait the Rifle is above? Hubb -Six different paths i chose to show, different heights tell you when to go. End - Congrats, you've cured your burn, now climb to the oddball that you have earned. I hope you guys like the map. Gametype ------------------------------- Map
I think you didn't realize that the Gametype and the map are 2 different links. I recommend putting the map link under the gametype link by one or two lines so people don't get confused. That will probably solve the situation.
lol, i can't even get past challenge one with the needler. I got the opening room down solid, though . --- For the banshee challenge, are you meant to escape through the hole in the bottom, or blow the sniper rifle off the ledge from inside the room?
well going out the bottom wont accomplish anything, so feel free to do that. But what your supposed to do is use the banshee blast (green shot) to knock the sniper off.
ugh, now im at challenge 2 with the turrets. this thing is impossible, there isnt anything to do here
at challenge 2, break the turret and push it into the small gold area. (theres a man cannon there. in the starting room, throw the bubble shield on the wall slit, then throw a plasma inside the bubble shield, so it goes under the slit, and hold whatever button picks up weapons. Then ricoshe the sniper bullet to destroy the pallet.
what do you do in the needler partim getting annoy and also what do you do after you put the tripod of the turret in the man cannon
Starting Room - Grab the bubble shield and throw it on the wall slit, then make the plasma grenade go under the map, hold pick up button, and then ricoshet bullets to unblock teleporter. Die. Needler Room - kill yourself on the sloped part of tube corner, then go back and load body up with needles and jump, grab sniper and shoot fusion coil on main level. Turret Room - break a turret, push the stand into lift so it gets onto the second level of challenge, quickly break off another stand and use it to jump up there. push the first stand into the weapon holder in wall. Grab spartan laser from wall and go back to reciever node, charge and jump to unblock reciever, and then die. the rest of the map you're on your own, because otherwise it ruins the point of the puzzle aspect.
