Ok so I have seen a lot of Invasion ideas lately and I also have seen some H3 maps that were based on Bungie and it's wonderful staff. I thought and I thought and CLICK! A lightbulb went off. What if for invasion we recreate a possible common scene in bungies every day life. Let's say there are some really bad hackers and they are trying to hack their way into the mainframe of halo Reaches server and Bungie has to counteract them before they steal it and screw up reach forever. The Spartans are bungie and the other spartans (if that is possible, if not then ELites) are the hackers. The Map is going to be designed to look like the insides of a computer where the hard drive and data storage get bigger as rounds extend. This is a different sort of Invasion. Weapons are on this map but the map consists of no Vehicular firefights as the map is too... enclosed to suit it well. Map changes: 1st round: Exterior Hard drive. Bungie has more cover on their side but their space is restricted. 2nd Round: Interior Hard drive and Data storage: Hackers drop down into the interior. Cover is spread using wires and microchip like structures. Sniper, shotgun, Fuel rod and plasma launcher and rocket launcher spawn. 3rd Round: Data storage opens. Spartan Laser Spawns. Bungie's loadouts are as follows. First round: Fixer: AR 1 Frag grenade Armor Ability sprint Tester: DMR no grenades Armor Ability Evade Moderater: Plasma Repeater 1 plasma grenade Armor ability Sprint Round 2: Designer: AR, Grenade Launcher 2 Frag grenades Armor ability Armor lock Mechanic: AR, Magnum 2 frag grenades Armor ability Drop Shield Composer: Needler, DMR 1 frag grenade 1 plasma grenade Armor Ability Armor lock Advanced Tester: Plasma Repeater, Concussion Rifle 2 Plasma grenades, Armor Ability Active Camo 3rd Round: Developer: AR, Grenade launcher 3 frags Armor Ability Sprint Expert Mechanic: AR, DMR 2 Frag grenades Armor Ability Drop Shield Recorder: Needler, DMR 2 Frag grenades Armor Ability Armor Lock Executive: Shotgun, Magnum 2 Frag Grenades 1 Plasma Grenade Armor Ability Jetpack Banhammer: DMR, Gravity Hammer 3 Frag and Plasma Grenades Armor Ability Hologram Hacker Classes are as follows: Virus: DMR magnum 1 frag grenade Armor Ability Sprint Spam: Magnum Plasma Pistol no grenades Armor Ability Evade Round 2: Improved Virus: DMR Magnum 2 Frag grenades Armor Ability Armor lock Increased Spam: AR Plasma Repeater 1 frag and plasma grenade Armor ability Evade Worm: Needle Rifle, Plasma Pistol Armor ability Drop shield 1 plasma grenade Round 3 Advanced VirusMR Grenade Launcher 3 frag grenades Armor Ability Armor lock Massive Spam: AR Plasma Repeater 2 frag and plasma grenades Ability Evade Advanced Worm: Needle Rifle Plasma Repeater 2 plasma grenades Armor Ability Jetpack Spyware: Shotgun AR 2 frag grenades Armor Ability Active Camo Trojan Horse: Energy Sword Plasma Repeater 3 Plasma Grenades Armor Ability Hologram I can't show you what the map looks like because I do not have that one application that lets you guys create those photoshopped Reach maps If I could get a link to it I would appreciate it. Thanks and tell me what you think!
Google SketchUp and Mickraider/Bartoge's objects are a great combination. And I like the idea, and it's very original
Lol, the idea is creative and funny. Might I suggest (as an aesthetic touch) making a computer monitor off to the side that both teams can marvel at? And you can't go wrong with mongeese.
sounds good. if this comes out pretty early i bet it could be considered the start of unconvientional invasion maps. one suggestion though is a dmr/needle rifle class seems kinda redundant, maybe give them each in two different classes
This is great in all but ther is one slight easly corrected problem with the loadouts as far as we know so far in one of the bungie weekly updates ( I can't get get a link right now) around the time of the beta as far as armor abilities, evade was the only one that spartans couldn't have and for the elites they couldn't have sprint (there normal walking speed was much faster than spartans anyway). No word on if this have changed so far, maybe in a custum game you can give out these armor abilities how ever you want, but for now we will just have to wait and see.
Noticed something wrong with the names. Turns out, they have pre-set names that you select. Sure, they got a lot, but I didn't see any named the same as what you named your loadouts.
Wait... Pre set? I had no idea there were preset loadout names and you could not choose names for em. Wait can you not edit the invasion loadouts at all?
The names, they just made a big selection that you can choose from. You can edit loadouts' weapons and AAs and stuff.
It's from a bungie weekly update about firefight options. It includes what you can do with loadouts, and I'm just assuming it's the same thing for invasion. Will edit post with link when I find the update. EDIT: Linky!
Thanks for that. Wow that many and some are actually fitting. But it sucks they couldn't give us that level of customization
