The Halo Museum

    This idea originally came from being a hotel to being a museum. This is my 1st map using sketch up. The basic idea of the map is that there is a lot of walk ways all around the map. There are 2 rooms, 1 which show cases 2 ghosts that are viewable but in glass cases, and the other room which will be the same but will have mongooses. The Middle will have a banshee, falcon and a tank. Which is why there is nothing in the middle of the map when looking at these pictures. They will be closed in so non will be of use. When going up the main stairs there are 4 warthogs for show as well. This is only my 1st map, and its a bit sloppy. But Id love to hear what everyone has to say. If anyone would like additional images, please let me know. Thank you, and hope some of you like it.

    great, except for one problem. No glass.

    Or was that breakable glass... I forget...

    I like the premise of the map. =) Also, great job for your first Sketch-up!

    I see some issues you need to address though. In terms getting the map rated for play, you will have an issue with the long walkways. They leave little room for maneuvering and have long lines of sight. To fix this, I recommend adding some platforms that open up the walkways every now and then. In terms of "Top View with no sub roof on" you can easily take out a segment of both the top and second walkway levels and add some 4x4 thin blocks for floors and make platforms that have more cover and extend out over your main atrium. You may also want to add some small objects around the walkways to provide some cover. Adding some overhead connecting ramps would also help with maneuvering.

    In terms of map design, you may need to change walls out for large 4x4 thin/short blocks or something. Right now I see you running out of wall pieces very fast. When looking at "Side View 1" I see a LOT of walls right there. They can ALL be converted into blocks seeing as you aren't doing too bad for you block count. Also, no blocks are see-through. The Sketch-up folks messed that up a little so if you want to have windows, use the window wall segments also seen in "Side View 1".

    I don't understand. The glass cover is not destructible. Neither are window wall segments. You can just see through them. He can make all the see through walls he wants, so long as he doesn't max out the wall count.

    Haha, this is an awesome idea! You could also have a large glass wall with like a Scorpion behind it and keep it out of reach of the map so you don't have to waste glass walls to encircle the tank. I'd love to see this get made. You could make it work for Grifball or competitive matches, but you'd need to change it a bit maybe (like add cover in the middle for competitive games). Cool idea!

    It would be extremely awesome if you could have undriveable vehicles on this map as explosive cover.

    Ya, I think you should have the ghosts and mongeese out of the glass but have the gametype make it so that the vehicles are undrivable.
    Also you could add anoter part with weapons, but the heavy weapons would be in a case.

    Thank you guys. The glass is not breakable. But see through able. And yahhh I know for a fact i went over the pieces amount for certain pieces. But I dont know every single piece, So i was just gonna sketch it up to get a general idea of what I can do with this map. And wasnt to crazy about the going overboard with certain pieces. Also, the walk ways will have some minor cover on it. But the 1 walk way by itself connecting both sides will be wided open. I Have some general ideas to add to this map to make it better. JUst a matter of how I would like to go about with it. And yes this map will be one of my 1st maps made, and will be posted for all of you to check it out :) thank you again guys.

    A real Halo Museum would be sick! And I will try and dig something up on the museum from quantum of solace. I never saw them.
