    Thank you very much.

Does anyone know how to add a poll to a post?

Or does it have to be added at the beginning when you first post a map?

    Just curious, thanks!

Sad I can't download it because of lack of Foundry, but it looks (and sounds) fun. I think I'll download it once the Heroic Pack is free.

If you manage to remember once the map pack is free, lol.

Come back and give me your opinion in this thread, please!

    Thanks.

I finally had a chance to d/l this map and give it a whirl.

First, a commentary on Geese: They are from the devil and should be purged from our Earth using flame and shrapnel.

    Now to the review:
Overall, I think it's a decent map with plenty of opportunities for competition. It doesn't have the seksi banked curves that other maps do, but I don't think that takes away from the fun. The fun is the track's namesake, the "Goose Chute". If you don't end up heels over head after experiencing this occurance, then you're not doing it right. Dump four racers through at nearly the same time and you'll have a pile of bodies and mongeese. I wish that the Bungie game variants would force assign drivers to mongeese, because that would be really funny trying to find your 'goose in a pile of 4 or 6...but, that's me.

There are a few things that I found "bumpy". When the racers come to the first door, which leads into the tunnel between the two regular foundry bases, they are greeted with a fairly steep 90 degree angle. This turn is formed by using short barriers which, after a couple laps, tend to get pushed out of whack. The game variant, which is set for 3 lap rounds, fixes this issue...but, I'm not loving only three laps, so more on that later.

Navigating the tunnel between maps can be ugly with more than a couple of drivers all trying to get through the exit at the same time. I LOVE the use of the flame grenades to mark the lane, but that turn is really sharp and tight.

It's very easy to bottleneck at these two doorways...which can be fun if you know everyone, but in a setting with strangers, it could turn into road rage situation fast.

The jump to the finish line is good and I'm impressed with the use of the shield door as a catch/bump. 90% of my landings were perfect...but, if you miss it, you go tumbling.

Normally, I don't like stop-n-go tracks, but this one only has a few spots where this happens and it's due to some dramatic occurances. Most turns and straightaways are wide enough to allow for passing, which helps to keep the competition going.

If I could change anything, it would be to the entry to the doorways and the game variant. I like tracks with more laps and no rounds.

Thank you so much for your review of my map. I read it and agree with your points of criticism.

It was probably not the best idea to route the track through the base hallways, but I wanted to use the entire map for this track; unique to most race tracks that use the warehouse section only. This would be the one part I would change as well, seeing as how difficult it is for some people. I guess I made the map too challenging!

The lap count was designed to make it a fairer race. What usually happens in races with large lap counts is for those who have fallen far behind will tend to give up and disrupt the race for the rest of the players. A low lap count discourages this because even an average racer will likely only fall behind by one lap after one round. Think of it as a "best of 3" type of scenario, where you can actually have a crappy round and still have a chance to take 1st. With longer lap counts this just isn't possible. With one bad lap you could fall far, FAR behind.

By all means please tinker with the gametype. I won't take it personally if you tailor the gametype to fit your playing style.

Anyways, this map has had its fair share of downloads and reviews, and I'm considering taking it down in the near future (a week or two). If anyone would like to download it or review it after this time, please send me a PM as I will most definitely keep a copy of it on my hard drive. We can meet up on Live and make the "exchange" (lol).

    Thanks again, Minister.

god I hate racemaps that use the back hallway of foundry. Way too narrow for fun racing.
