A few tips & tricks for sketchup. 1) "External Arrays". Spoiler Select a model you want duplicated. Swap to the "Move Tool", then press CTRL to move a copy of the object. Move the object into position, and then let place it. DO NOT DO ANYTHING ELSE. Now type in "xNumber of Replications Here" (e.g, x5) then press enter. NOTES: This will work similarly with the rotate tool. In the last image, there is in fact another block out of view. With rotate... Spoiler For an example, this could be used to make a circle of columns facing inward. Or to quickly rip of Tucci's dome idea 2) "Internal Arrays". Spoiler Select a model you want duplicated. Swap to the "Move Tool", then press CTRL to move a copy of the object. Place it at the far end. duplicates will appear between. Similar to the previous array, this uses "/NumberOfDuplicates" the finished product with duplicates spread evenly between. 2.5) Official Sketchup Video on Arrays Spoiler YouTube- Google SketchUp Techniques: Copy and Arrays 3) Labelling Spoiler Select the Label tool. Drag the label into the position you want it. It will always face the camera. Type in the desired text. For example, you could label weapon and vehicle spawns or sniper perches. Important - Clicking and dragging, clicking then clicking another spot, and just dragging all depend on your Click Style (in Drawing, preferences)
I didn't even know there was a measurement thing in the corner, how useful! I'm sure this thread will be beneficial for many.
This is very helpful for me because I'm currently trying to learn how to use sketch up well. But this shouldn't be in the Reach section. I think it should be moved here.
