Sounds like it could be a fun gametype, but really seems more like a simple way to balance zombies on Sandtrap. I prefer sandstorm. =P That you will. =P Thanks. Took a fair bit of time to type. RUN! ZOMBIE! Good move. Its pretty helpful to look at when rating an infection map, and of course when creating one. =P
Oh, I think that you forgot to mention not to add flying vehicles for the humans, if the infected have a melee weapon. I have actually played on one of those infection Sandtrap infection games where the infected have 300% speed and 50% gravity, and awaiting the humans at the other side, was a hornet. There was no score limit, so the game went on for 10 minutes of these people flying around and blowing up the infected. That is definitly a no-no for a good infection game, so you should add it to the guide. I hope that this was not mentioned before, but I did search the thread and first post for keywords such as fly, air, air vehicle, hornet, and banshee.
No, it wouldn't have been mentioned before, but that's just because it was kinda under vehicles. Good idea, I'll add it now.
wow this guide is amazing and the best part is, is how almost nobody will probaly listen to it. dont worry this isnt an insult from me because i totally 100% agree with this. but still there will always be kids out there screeming and making completely unfair zombie maps. all in all great guide and i hope this gets stickied because it should and i think the community needs it
Gotta say tho, Never played a fun foundry infection map, its just never happenned... please anything but that! goooood post
This guide is amazing! Would you mind if I made some sort of "Sand Storm" remake seeing as it isnt available for download? If I were to make this remake, would Avalanche be a good choice?
hey, thanks for the guide. i tried to follow this guide very closely with my last zombie map. it turned out pretty ok. infection has been on a downward slope but i believe that if people follow this guide or at least understand the general rules of thumb, zombies would be overall more fun. I don't get where these people think a long hallway with a turret at the end is a good idea.
I tried to use this guide on my maps. I think they're a lot better because of it. The worst thing about an infection map is when the creator says "oh it's balanced because the zombies can run faster and the humans have 5 turrets pointing at the one entrance for the zombies." I actually had someone tell me this exact quote.
