A top-down plan view of Sunken Complex: When active the T29 Traxus Cargo Complex was a thriving area inhibited by Humans, now after a decline in business and a sudden climate change the complex has been abandoned, left to slowly sink under a mass of snow. Sunken Complex is a large-ish CTF map which takes place on Avalanche under the gigantic fore-runner arch. This map is best played with 8-12 peeps. The map is fairly linear with two bases either end where the flags are home. This took me a lot of time and effort especially to do the large amount of merging into the geometry (forgive me if it looks a wee bit wonkey, I did the best I could) Each of the two bases has a defending tower with a turret placed at the top, a tunnel leading from the base to the center of the map where the laser spawns, and a bridge to the canopy's where the rockets, power drain and re-generator spawn. There is also a small base with a turret, bubble shield and sniper in the center which if controlled can change the tide of the game. Here are a few pics for yooz: This is the first of the two bases. Notice the turret tower on the right hanging of the cliff, also notice the boxes nearly entirely merged into the ground. This is an overview of the second base. A lot of interlocking and merging going on here, the turret tower for this base is just to the left off the screen, also hanging on the edge of the cliff. This is the canopy at the top where a lot of powerful weapons and equipment spawn. The rocket launcher balances between the two bridges, forcing the player to make the jump. Also on one side there is a power drain and BR, and on the other there is a re-generator and another BR. This is the center base with the turret, sniper and bubble shield. I used merging to dip the ramp vertically into the map's geometry, and I attempted to use the receiver teleporter as lights like in Pallet Parade (although it does not look all that great on mine). Their are two holes in the center which can be used for hiding and getting out of the way of fire. One of the base's defending towers merged into the map. One of the snow filled tunnels which goes from the base to the center of the map. wow this looks like a wonderfully merged and interlocked map tdharding. it looks like it'll be intense for ctf games. 1 question is the rest of the map blocked off though, i can't tell by the pics. great job btw
Thanks alot! Its not blocked off, but the people gain no benefit from going out side of the map really so I didn't feel there was a need.
very sight pleasing map looks profesional and object through ground makes this a one of a kind map with extreme bib bob
Thanks peeps. faceplanter7774: I debated over taking out the hornets but I feel in a game of 8-12 people the hornets don't last long or get far without alot of support, also they add to the epic-ness so I thought I'd keep them. But if you play a game on the map and you still feel they are unnecessary then I will most likely remove them from the map.
great map TD. Looks like fun and im glad you had the gageevils to keep the hornets in. One question, is the forge filter in the opening picture actually in the map???
Wow. You must've spent so much time getting every box to merge with the ground evenly, and you pulled it off almost perfectly. Are the sniper, rockets, and laser all in neutral positions, because giving one side a rocket and the other side a laser seems unfair (laser pretty much dominates this map)? I don't mind the hornet, but I think you should move it back off the boxes and make another small platform for it behind the base.
You are really a great Forger TDHarding, I downloaded Scope back when I just went to Bungie.net and still love playing that for SWAT and Snipers, and this looks great too.
Thanks man, there are no forge filters on the map. I was thinking about adding colour blind but it might have been slightly controversial so I thought I'd leave it up to the player Thanks, merging did take a considerable amount of time to get right for each box. As for weapons I put the power weapons in neutral positions, these are the locations of the weapons you listed: the laser is on the ground in the center of the map, the rocket is above it hovering in the center of the canopys and the sniper is in the small base near to the center. Thanks a lot! That really is great to hear that you still play my map, that has to be one of the best compliments that I've heard from someone about my maps!
Thanks, I guess there is a lot of vehicles but I feel it is pretty balanced. I just played a big team battle and It went pretty well.
No its not really supposed to be symmetrical. But its not really asymmetric so its somewhere in between. What bits do you think are sloppy? I tried my hardest to get the merged objects to go where I wanted them but it is very difficult.
so i played this map to day 6v6 it was great i really liked all the map geometry interlocking game play was a little rough but might just be the fact we never played the map before i liked it and thats all that counts
