I'm new to this site (actually, just joined) as I recently finished my first serious map on this game and was hoping for some feedback. It's a Sandbox map, built for Team Slayer and Capture the Flag specifically, and is rather small (I put 8 as the maximum as it didn't seem like it'd work with any more). Anyway, here's the basics: Ancient Site Created by Connor92 Supported Gametypes: Team Slayer Capture the Flag Map Description Kind of a remix of the original Sandbox structure in terms of the layout, but the decorations, the spawning, and the weapon placements were done by me. There are also a few objects (Overshield, Ghosts) that only spawn after a minute, and a 7 Wood to replace the Gravity Hammer. An overview from the centre of my map A closer look at one of the bases A birds-eye view of the map View from one of the sniper spawns Unfortunately the map isn't completely symmetrical (from what I can tell, one base is closer to the middle than the other, and slightly off-centre), so One-Flag would probably be best unless the issue is very minor. Obviously criticism is very much welcome as, where I probably won't be completely overhauling this map any time soon, I will take it into consideration when making another map. This map looks awesome, its very interesting in the middle. You could merge a little to make it neater though. You could use more pictures.
Yeah, merging was something I tried but could never get perfect. Like I said, it's my first attempt. There is plenty of room for improvement.
yea merging is pretty important to clean up the map in some spots, but as the majority of the floor is the ground, its not a big issue. This is pretty much ur default sandbox main floor map. While it will play well enough, its not too original. It would play better if you followed a couple of rules. 1)U didnt include a weapons list so idk if there are missile pod or rockets or stickies, but those r neccessary for keeping vehicles from being too powerful. (Just like on the original sandbox) 2) this map is prolly way too open for a sniper. As soon as people come out of their base they r gonna get killed by that snipe, especially if its AR's. If you're gonna keep the sniper, make only of them in the middle or make them have low ammo 180 sec respawn time. If you make those changes I promise the map will be more enjoyable for the player, because they wont be getting constantly spawn killed by unbeatable snipers or vehicles.
3/5 this map is essentially the default layout with different structures. Next time you make a map try to design an original layout that's never been done before. by layout i mean positioning of main structures. In this map, and sandbox default, there are 2 symetrical bases at either end. a center structure. and a couple structures that line the edges of the map. (don't try to say all map's are like that because that is a lie) As a basic rule, if you must copy a layout that's been made several times before then at least try to make some interesting and new structures. and really the only way this can be achieved is by Merging different object's together or into the terrain of the map. I cant say anything on gameplay because i don't feel there is anything about it that makes me want to actually download it. PS. For future reference, before you post another map think to yourself "is this really different enough from the thousand's of other map's on forge hub that it will actually be something worthwhile for people to keep on their limited saved content" cause if not then please don't post it. If you posted this just for feedback then here you have it. Don't try to take this as me being a ****, im just telling you how it is. If you wan't feedback nextime then plz send me or someone else on forgehub a message so we can check it out. That way we can tell you if it will even be worth the time to post. PS.
