Was Halo really the first video game to have some type of Theater Mode? Anyways, it looks like a MW2 Copy-cat in the Cold War era to me.
Even Burnout Revenge had one, with a ranking system and a Top 20 ... But finally there is a thermal camera that you can set up where ever you want to. How could I ever camp and destroy a Maps flow without this thing? Now I'm able to sit at to spots at once, thanks Treyarch, once again you took everything that was once good about a game and put it on steroids
I can see myself doing good, maybe camping. Then a ***** who can't actually fight so he uses the little car thing and to kill me. That thing is going to be ****ing annoying. Wait... I can't see this happening to me because I'm not buying this. Ever.
As if CoD Multiplayer didn't need more broken features, now you drive a ****ing suicide car, place a camera to watch your back when you camp, and can launch a Ballistic Knife if you're not happy with your normal knife. Eliminating Commando was smart, but adding an improved Commando is not. Oh, but okay, they have theater mode. Now you can record your awesome Noobgun streaks, hilarious glitches, and epic no-skills. The new CoD's never cease to amaze me in how ****ing bad they are. I'll be renting Black Ops for the Campaign and Zombies, and that's it.
Don't forget the exploding crossbow. At first I was like, "WTF that is so shitty! Why doesn't kill him with one hit?" but then it exploded and i was like "WTF that is so nooby! Why is it kill him with one hit?" It not only kills him, but ****ING EXPLODES! That's going to be ****ing gay. Someone gets you with that, but you manage to kill him right before it goes off and all you can think is i'm ****ed while trying to get a last kill before you die.
Don't be afraid to actually be excited for the game. Granted this is a Halo-based board, but you won't die. Promise.
if i do get this game, itll be a little while after a release and only if it gets good feedback. but i am slightly more excited for it now that i see that torque bow...
Looks exactly like MW2, but with different guns and different noob guns. I was excited about this game before this. I might rent for campaign and zombies. EDIT: also, it has theater mode. Now all the COD kids will be like: 'oh, COD is so awesome because it has a theater mode!'...
The one reason why I think COD:Black Ops and Medal of Honor won't be too successful is the fact that they only tried to copy Halo and MW2 instead of raising the bar. If people hated MW2, Black Ops will be nothing new aside from a few minor tweaks. This video showed almost nothing new. Just a few weapons and perks that look like they will be aggravating anyways. The only thing that is to look forward to is the campaign...
Honestly, this is nothing special, still same old CoD with no changes to it, just new kill streak awards.
I don't think you appreciate how hard it is to make a sequel to a triple-A FPS series with an established continuity and put in new ideas that don't conflict with that continuity[sup]1[/sup]. "A few minor tweaks" could be said of WAW, MW2, and most of Nintendo's games. They're either enough of an incentive to buy the game, or they're not. But it's by no means a new phenomenon, and being surprised that games in a series have similar gameplay makes you look... [sup]1[/sup]Or how much Activision want money, no matter how hard it has to milk.
If only game developers could tweek game types and things after shipping. Sort of like Bungie with playlists, certain game types etc. That would make CoD games more exciting for me. If there were a playlist without grenade launchers, semtex, certain guns that I really hope weren't on purpose to be 1 hit kills, M16, Famas, Ump45 with silencer (2-3 shot) RPD, I would be very much content. MW2 has Barebones already, for no kill streaks but it doesn't stop abuse of things in certain maps, Highrise, getting on top of the buildings with tac insertion and one man army noob tubes. vice versa with the crane as well.
No, I do know how hard it is. That doesn't mean I am going to have sympathy for a studio that is trying to compete for the title of BEST game of the year for basically doing nothing to their multiplayer aspect as Infinity Ward already did the thinking for them. This game and Medal of Honor look like they have done absolutely nothing new to the previous title as if you are paying $60 for an add-on that is a map pack with a few guns, not an actual full game (well for the multiplayer aspect). Instead of trying to make their game better than Modern Warfare 2, it looks as if they just tried to BE Modern Warfare 2. Also, "minor tweaks" cannot be applied to WaW because it models COD4's gameplay with an ENTIRE new theme and style (ie: WWII style). And MW2 IS just minor tweaks to COD4, but there were a lot of them. As for the Nintendo games, that is completely different because almost all Nintendo titles are all single player based which is ENTIRELY based around the new storyline which normally include completely new features as opposed to a title such as Halo, Gears or CoD, which is based more on the Multiplayer aspects while having a somewhat short single player experience with no huge replay value.
