I've pretty much put a complete halt on my competitive map Uplifter to focus all my attention on this map, my last Halo 3 creation. It's in the early stage of production but I wanted to show some pictures of what i've done. Keep in mind, that i'm trying my best with the aesthtics on this map. I left the FX on because they will be on when the map is finished, and they give it an eerie feel. This is one of the zombie portals. Should be familiar if you played the first one. They just got an aesthetic touch up. Another view of the 'portals'. That wall slit lets zombies and humans see each other before the chaos ensues. The human spawn room. The hole takes you into the madness. Out of view is the shotgun spawn. Overview of the path the humans will have to travel, while fighting off the undead. On of the rooms without the walls. Another room. Room with a drop down to the next level.
Those effects make it look sick and really set the mood. I dont know why anyone would complain. The aesthetics on this map are beautiful, but make sure you dont run out of objects to actually make the basic design of your map. The zombie portals look fantastic, can't even work out what objects you used to build them. The human spawn is also amazing and the little window is a nice addition. Great work, hope you can finish this off without having to delete any objects!
Glad you like it. The zombie 'portals' are made out of stone bridges, fins, and stone platforms. As far as the rest of the map goes, i'm not sure exactly how big i'll be able to make it. The first FoH was based on long, narrow hallways. To account for slightly better aesthetics i'm making the rooms bigger and not as long.
HEy Nibs, nice map you got there. I'm liking the aesthetics, especially on the third picture. I love the use columns and the nice little drop hole. But I'm not sure I get how the gameplay is going to play, since I am not familiar with the first one. Also, is it going to extend to the bottom of the crypt?
I just reached the crypt floor. It will hopefully let me save money and items which I really need. I also removed the red light, because it was annoying me and didn't look how I wanted it to. The map will now have an all blue theme. With the layout at the stage it is, it takes about two minutes to walk through WITHOUT the zombie distraction.
I'm not sure when i'll finish it, but I'm definately going to try to get it to the testers guild if its not too late.
Looks cool. I like these types of maps. What do you mean by hopefully it will let you save money? Why don't you just money glitch the map? Where are all the OLN spawns and items?
By using the floor of the crypt, I won't have to use items for an artificial floor. Also I believe I started this map on the normal Sandbox, picked everything up myself. I always forget to use money glitched canvases, but I think i'll have enough money. Edit: I'm also hoping to get some updated pictures up soon.
Wow, this map looks absolutely stunning. If it plays as well as it looks, it should be a real winner.
I hope the gameplay works out as intended. It's getting closer to completion, but is still not at a testable stage yet. The safe room has just been finished and i'm now working on getting the ceilings and walls finished. After that, I will get the teleporters working and then it will go to the testers guild. I also added a switch to the map to shake things up.
