Conquest in Reach

    Then why do they have this in the Forge world ViDoc? from 4:50 into it.
    If Spartans can't use evade then this makes no sense.

    mm, nice spot.. i guess it would be kinda cool, but i think i'd rather they didn't have spartans with evade and elites with sprint.. it just isnt right :l

    also, loving the vertical conquest idea.

    Well slap my ****! Yeah, as long as Evade finds its way into Conquest, I think that would be a really cool Armor Ability.

    i think i would prefer an Elite Conquest, where the only armour ability is Evade. Because it is the only AA that would work for typical Conquest IMO. And I still don't want to see Spartans evading.

    I think we could just have it so the player doesnt spawn with an armor ability, and then while designing maps the forger can just place what ever armor ability would work with that map. Although im thinking we limit the abilities to...

    -Jet Pack
    -Hologram
    -Sprint
    -Evade

    I was actually formulating a concept for a "hardcore conquest", if you will. The gametype would be Stockpile instead of Territories, and there would be a neutral flag in the middle of the map. Your scoring zone would be in a hole in the other team's base (so it can't be removed once scored) with teleporters blocking it so players can't reach it. The round ends when a point is scored. This is entirely my idea (I came up with it the instant I saw Stockpile, before the beta) , and I would prefer it if I could develop it by myself. Don't steal it.

    Sorry I don't quite understand how this is anything like Conquest ..? :S

    Anyway, although I do not have any idea's to improve the current Conquest gametype, I have come up with three different Conquest spin-offs.

    The first two are represented in the image below. These are Conquest Arena and Conquest Multiteam.

    The third idea is One-sided Conquest.
    Basically, there is one team defending and one attacking. The map has to be linear; any normal Conquest map can be used for this gametype. The attacking side has to capture as many of the 5 territories as possible in 3 minutes. The defending team can unlock territories again once they have been taken by the attacking team (this helps to keep the 'Conquest' feel to it). After the 3 minutes, the teams swap sides. There is 4 rounds, and no sudden death.

    I would like to hear your thoughts and any criticism on all 3 of the spin-off idea's.

    I don't like your multi-team conquest map idea, because its not like the main idea of conquest, at least as far as I understand Conquest.

    The idea of Conquest is for a map to be only one route correct?

    Thats how all the Conquest maps I have seen have been, so I assume thats the idea with them. I haven't looked for the rules for Conquest but I have seen it on here a lot.

    So, multi-team conquest maps would need to be shaped with a + shaped layout, not a circular layout around a + shaped wall or whatever. The reason that would not work is because when a team or player spawns, they can choose to go left or right, 2 different routes. Since Conquest is about there only being one route, the 4 teams would have to be forced to go straight from where they spawn through one route. Since each team would only have one route, the 4 routes would ultimately intersect forming a + shape in the map design.

    Think about it this way. 2 teams form a line, -, shaped map. 3 teams would then form a Y shaped map. And 4 teams would form a + shaped map.

    I think I might make my first Conquest map when Reach comes out and make it for multiple teams.

    But can there even be more than 2 teams in Terrorities to begin with???

    I see now you have the middle open, I thought it was sealed off at first since there is a black circle there. But that doesn't change what I said because that is just adding a third route to choose to follow for a player or team, and there can only be one route in Conquest from my understanding of Conquest at least.
