    DKVSM Fortress V1.2
    GameType: Battle Royale

    Brief Map Description:
    • A fortress type arena with 4 different levels. Made for Slayer based games with 5 or more players. As players progress through the levels, the weapons get stronger. At the final level, players have the option to briefly go into GOD mode and use either one of the following: Sniper Rifle, Beam Rifle, or Spartan Laser.
    Features:
    • Kill points are altered.
    • First to 50 Kills wins.
    • Custom Power Ups turn players unstopable for a couple of minutes.
    • Match last for about 10 minutes.

    • Battle Rifle (Starting off)
    • Energy Sword (Starting off)
    • Gravity Hammer (2nd Level)
    • Mauler (2nd Level)
    • Spiker (2nd Level)
    • Needler (2nd Level)
    • Machine Gun Turrets (2nd Level)
    • Shotgun (3rd Level)
    • Sential Beam (3rd Level)
    • Rocket Launcher (3rd Level; Grav Lift Blocked Box)
    • Fuel Rod Gun (3rd Level; Grav Lift Blocked Box)
    • Sniper Rifle (Top level)
    • Beam Rifle (Top Level)
    • Spartan Laser (Top Level)
    Equipment/Grenades:
    • Plasma Grenades (Second Level; Next to the barrels)
    • Frag Grenades (Second Level; Next to the barrels)
    • Regenerator (Second Level; Behind the barrels)
    • Flare (Second Level; On top of the Wire Spool)
    • Power Drain (Second level; On top of the Wire Spool)
    • Bubble Shield (2nd & 3rd Levels; On top of the barrels. [The bubble shield where the the Plasma grenades are is behind the barrels.])
    • Spiker Grenades (Third Level; Next to the barrels)
    • Fire Bomb Grenades (Third Level; Next to the barrels)
    • Deployable Cover (Third Level; On the dumpsters)
    • Trip Mines (3rd & Top Levels; 3rd floor: By the Shotguns; Top floor: Close by the Spartan Laser.)
    • Custom Power Ups (Top Level; Behind the Sniper and Beam Riffles)
    Hints and Tips:
    • In order to reach to the level at the very top, you must have a Gravity Hammer or something that can cause an explosion through a Shield door. Once you climb the platforms on the map, two boxes await for you. One with a Fuel Rod Gun and a Rocket Launcher; the other leading to the teleporter that sends you to the top floor. Use the Gravity Hammer on the "Grav Lift" that has no weapons. Once the Grav Lift is destroyed, enter the box. On the other side of the wall is a Warthog that you can enter through. Press the right shoulder button to enter it. Once inside exit out of the Warthog and go through the teleport next to it (If you dont go through the teleporter, then just jump on to the Warthog and jump to where the Custom power up is.) From there, if you want to prevent anyone from getting to where you are, equip yourself with the Spartan Laser and destory the Warthog. Grab the custom power up and the Sniper Riffle of your choice, and enjoy.
    • Custom Power Up will respond within 180 seconds. So choose when you use them wisely or else it will literally be the death of you.
    • Make sure if your at the top level, you do not fall off. Just incase you do, two teleporters are at the fortress; but it'll just send you back to the first level. So becareful.
    • The first level has teleporters with shield doors blocking them on each side of the fortress. (First level only) (Great way to hid from the Snipers from above).
    • On the Second and Third levels, barrels conseal fusion coils that can blow up enemies by using Plasma grenades or the Rocket Lancher.

    • This is only a prototype of the final product. Please tell me what I can improve on.
    • I will upgrade this map monthly as i get opinions in.
    • This is the second Verison of my first map. I didnt release since I didnt like it. :p
    • I'll add more screenshots on May 2, 2008.

    It looks good, but one question. How do you get to upper levels? Those CANNON, MAN?

    it may be just me but i think the font is a little to small but otherwise the map looks great

    Well, there's platforms on one side of the fortress. I forgot to put up a picture of it. Ill have a picture of it like on Friday. Sorry about that.

    And ya, those are man cannons. I just placed it there for looks.

    Sorry about that. I'm new at the threads and I didn't know if the font was gonna go bigger or not. I'll make them bigger in my next post.

    what is the purpose of this map mabey infection mabey but it there like an other base for the attackers to spawn

    Alright, seems like you've got the structure down and everything (couldn't tell if you interlocked or not, a couple things look a bit sloppy so interlocking will help you there, see forging 101 if you don't know how), but the weapon placements need some help.

    First off, you have waaaaaaaay too many power weapons for such a small map. I'd say delete at least half of them, including one of the hammers, the machine gun turret, either the fuel rod or rockets, and one of the snipers.

    And did I read that the custom powerup makes you invincible for a couple of minutes? Invincibility in slayer is bad for any duration longer than about 10 seconds, so you should probably fix that also.

    Make sure that you have respawn points on all levels of the fortress (except maybe the top) to prevent spawn camping/killing.

    Yeah, I got really lazy at the end when i did the top.
    I didnt interlock the stuff yet, its just a prototype like i said.
    I just uploaded this map so that i can hear different people's opinions on improving it.

    I have to agree with JJ. In such a small area, it is easy to kill spam with power weapons. I say maybe a shotgun and sniper but thats it. Otherwise, great map

    What if i made the default weapons random and took off every weapon on the map and just kept two Hammers, the snipers above, the equipment/grenades, and the rocket launcher?

    do you think it would work?
