I have been working on this map for a little while and I am running out of ideas. With Reach on the way and still more maps to complete (Fear of Heights II). I originally started with 1 Flag and 1 Bomb in mind. Work in Progress: Defenders Base Attackers Base Center Overview The map has a lot of tactical jumps to help you reach the high ground. Each base has a ghost and two mongeese. So... Keep or Trash?
Personally I think you should keep it. I like what you are doing with the bases so far, but I'm not sure about the middle structure. Just because of all the routes and pathways, but other than that it looks pretty good.
I wouldn't scrap this, but at the same time I would think about which map of yours you really want finished before reach arrives.
Yeah, competitive maps have never been my strong point. I have spent a good deal of time on this and can't really see myself just deleting it. If anybody wants to get a closer look at it or put their spin on it, just let me know. I'm thinking i'm going to put the rest of my Halo 3 forge time into Road to Ruin (Fear of Heights II). And yes Irony, there are a **** ton of ways to get top side. I think I have at least seven different tactical jumps, and two man-cannons in the center which take you up top. That is how I wanted it to be, because I initially wanted it to be largely vehicle based 1 Flag. The map was inspired by Utah Mambo, because it's 1 Flag is incredible. The thing is, I really just don't know what to do with it at this point. I think I have around $300 left, but i'm not sure.
Well if you're just going to work primarily on your other map, then you should at least try to incorporate this map's style so it won't completely go to waste. But I would much better like to see it built as an individual map.
Well the other map i'm working on is infection sooooo.... I guess I could try to incorporate some of the aesthetics from this map. I like the arch doorways a lot, so maybe thats something I could add to the other map. As for this one, I'll try to complete it. If I can even get it to a 'playable state' i'll have to find people who are good with weapon placement and spawn placement. Not really sure how to accurately do that with competitive maps.
I don't think you should scrap any of your maps. If you have one that you can't finish, put it up for adoption. That's what I did for one of mine, and The Haptic finished it for me.
if its not done trash it, halo3 is now at its point where barely anyone plays. halo reach is coming out soon so get tha.
Dont scrap, fix. You said you have to jump to get to the middle ? Fix that. Have atleast 2 walking ways to get up. Flow of the map is important, especially in the middle area of the map since thats where most of the kills are. I kinda made something like this along time ago but I deleted it. Dont delete this one. It has plenty of ideas. Im sort of seeing the bases as a mini Utah Mambo abit.
Its kind of hard to tell because of how wide and far away the overview is, but if you look carefully there are FIVE pathways that connect into the dunes, no jumping required. The tactical jumps are on the sides of these walkways that allow for quick top access and deeper strategy. There are also two man-cannons in the center that will take you to the top. I'm also strongly considering putting this up for adoption..
