Needle rifle semi or fully automatic Actually the Needle Rifle is (can be) fully automatic, it just dosen't fire as accurately. This is achieved by holding down the trigger instead of pulling it repeatedly. Link to evidence Second Paragraph in design details.
DMR over the BR all the way. Not only is it a single shot weapon, but it actually requires you to time and land your shots. And the bloom is the cherry on top, imo. EDIT to above post. It's true that the NR could be considered a full-auto, but due to it's slow fire rate in that mode, it would just be easier to say semi-auto.
Thats very true, but all that I was pointing out was that it is technically fully automatic, I didn't say that shooting it fully automatic was a good idea. Oh, and DMR all the way.
It doesn't really matter which one I prefer. I'm going to get completely destroyed by other, more talented people who can put bullets in my dome while jumping, from 300 yards away... They're mind bullets, by the way. That being said, I love the way the DMR feels. And that pulsing reticule bloom sends shivers down my spine.
I'm going to miss the BR. Personally, it's going to be hard for me to adjust to a one-shot rifle like the DMR. I hope it works out alright for MLG and other competitive gameplay.
At first I sorta liked the BR a bit more, due to the fact that I wasn't too fond of the blossom effect. But since they are going to fix that up a bit in the actual game, I think I'm going to have to go with the DMR on this one. Still, I will miss the BR.
I didn't miss the BR at all. In fact, I had a hard time going back to it after the beta. DMR all the way
I always loved the carbine from Halo 2. There was such a range of damage it could do. you could put multiple clips into a brutes backside or just 2 rounds in between the eyes
Don't know if I already posted here, and I might be changing my opinion completely, but after finally ever using a Carbine earlier in MM, I want to say Covenant, bitches.
None. BR overpowered peice of ****. DMR, terrible weapon. Fails me and most of my friends. Carbine in halo 3 wrecks everything. The DMR is terrible because of the damage it does. None.
The BR because the noise it makes with it's 3shot burst is awesome. But the DMR isn't bad. I"m just glad that BR spread is gone and hitscan is back.
The DMR is definitely better IMO. The BR's spread made it too easy to land shots. The DMR takes a lot more aiming skill, and it's also more effective long range (when used correctly). Also, the DMR is hitscan, which is much better than the bullet travel time in H3. Are you serious?
Well I'm not sure if you were using it right then. I dominated with it, especially in invasion. Also the bloom effect was reduced and 3 mote shots were added to the clip, making it even better than it was in the beta
