By looking at the new footage of Forge World me and my friend GI J0BE pieced together a layout of Forge world. We are still uncirtain of a few things but it makes it all a lot clearer. I will relate parts of our drawing to screenshots I have took from the videos to show you what is were ect. ^ This is the full plan view of Forge world to our knowlage. In the top right is the remake of Blood Gulch now called Hemerage. Below that to the left a little is the entrance to the rest of the map, including the island, the rock, the collesium, the flat part of land above the collesium and parts that bungie didnt discuss. This is the Hemerage part of the map: I know, its HUGE. There is lots of interesting rock faces that we can use with the placable rocks to form all sorts of cool caves stuff. At the back of Hemerage is a large beach bigger the the beach on last resort. Beond this is the section that connects Hemerage to the rest of the map (looking back at Hemerage) Some interesting thing may arise from this small area. Directly to the left of the Hemerage part of the map is a quite large area ontop of a couple of cliffs: I saw quite alot could be fitted on this interesting area, there is also more beaches and rocks to the left of this area. Real picture: The next area I will talk about is the island. Bungie said that this area is capable of hosting 16 player matches and also has a few caves built into the rocks. It puts in perspective just how big the rest of the map is. here are the real pics of the island. You can just about see an entrance to a cave on the first picture of the island. The collesium is pretty much like the crypt but with one face open to the world. I am sure this will be able to be closed up with the giant floor peices that can be placed in forge. location of the collesium (also shows the flat grassland above) The collesium The Quarry In this next picture the collesium is shown with the dotted lines and the flat area of grass above it is the solid line. The Quarry looks to be capable of housing similar maps to the collesium but in an outside landscape. I also included the rock in this picture which we drew a little inacurate . It should be to the left of the collesium. The rock: I am really excited about the rock because it looks like is can hold crazy suspended maps similar to blackout and narrows using the cliff face to the right aswell. Beyond the cliffs??? I have seen hints that parts will be accessable behond the flat grassland and the waterfall. In this picture it shows areas in the top left that look like they can be accessed, if these part can be, why not all the way round the top to the collesium? I hope we can because then we can get to the top of the waterfall. Another hint that we can get all the way up there is that at the start of the forge world vidoc the spartan is very high up, beyond the flat grassland. I cant wait to see what comes from this monster of a map so ill see you guys in forge world on 9/14/10!
Great job putting this all together. Looks about right to what I was imagining as well. It's so hard to imagine all of this usable area! That little island, yeah it's 16 players...WOW.
Honestly, I hope the entirety of forge world is a large island, only limiting us when we get about 100 yards or so out of it... First thing im doing in forge world is seeing if I can get to the top of that giant mountain...
Yes nox, we shall hike to the top of Mount Forgeworld! I actually plan on seeing how long it takes to get from one side of the map to the tope of the mountain Lets see how long that lasts...
The "unnamed grassy area" is called the Quarry. Also, your map is out of proportion in some areas, but other than that,it looks like a pretty accurate representation of Forge World.
Also: I've made this clear to some friends, at some point. (possibly upon entering forgeworld) I will be creating a reallllly rough walk-way to get from one side to the other. Walking. It'll take years.
You neglected a large expanse of open water, depth unknown. In a few shot with them twirling objects around, they are above water that looks like it has had the giant wall placed just under the surface. Or it could be an area of water that already has a floor under it. That should be an interesting place to forge. Also, I have plans already for that canyon area in this pic: I won't discuss what it is.
With respect to the rest of the map, Blood Gulch isn't that big. And I damn well hope we can go up in the mountains. The maps you make up there would have an entirely different atmosphere (no pun intended) and would be awesome. You made the coliseum seem extremely small when really it is about 1.1x the size of the crypt in Halo 3.
i think u forgot 2 spots called : Alaska and Montana follow the link to see pictures of them:Bungie.net : Bungie.net Blog U dont have to scroll down too muchS i really couldnt findout where they were situated in relation to blood gulch? -Skittles
here ya go: Spoiler Also the gulch is way too big, and the island, quarry and colliseum are way to small but thats ok.
yea the gulch did look a little big, but i didnt want to be an **** and say something, but yea. haha, um its a good lay out though. gives me a lot of ideas and such.
Does anyone have a screenshot of the non-beach end of the cave? I've been meaning to see where it leads.
I'm pretty sure we can go up the mountains, why build that Valhalla style base halfway up the side just to have it inaccessible?
@Krazy, Ferrix answered this in the second lot of Q&A: he was asked whether you could go as far as the tower as the slope which leads up to the tower starts at the same height as other parts that we know you can access. He said that he thinks the cut-off boundary is before that point, we can get pretty close to it. But every time he says 'i think', I'm pretty sure that means he's lying. I'm sure there is more to forgeworld than they are telling us. He also said he has been trying to avoid this question, but it has come up numerous times. Sorry, I cant be bothered to go find an actual quote but he did say this. Even if we cant get to the tower though, that slope looks like a pretty good forging area.
Somebody at bungie did say a while ago, "That if you can see it, you can get to it. There is no more scenery just outside the skybox that you cannot reach." - But Im not sure if this will hold up like the "all multiplayer spaces are taking from campaign" bit they also said.
