Ras Algathi is most likely going to be my last Halo 3 map. I've been working on the design after finishing Culmination, and even started working on it. However, I lost inspiration for a few weeks (kind of from the small amount of DLs in my last awesome creation), but today, I decided to continue working on it.

The basic map design in Ras Algathi is simple, yet very original, for BTB that is. instead of having 2 bases face each other across a battleground, Ras Algathi places both teams no more than 10m apart, but separated by a giant wall.

    Overview of the map:

Base Design. There will be 2 floors, similar to Blood Gulch bases, and players and objectives will most likely spawn on the top floor:

The middle structure will be a huge tactical advanatge, since you will literally be right above the other team's base. It will be hard to control, since there will be 2 bridges, Deployable Grav Lifts, and 3 aerial vehicles that the enemy can attack you with.

A long hallway for epic vehicular battles:

    View from outside Red Base:

Warthogs will come right out of these gates, and fight for whatever weapon I decide to put there (either a Spartan laser or Grav Lift)

    Vehicles: 2 Warthogs, 1 Banshee, 2 Transport Hornets, 2 Wraiths, 4 Mongeese

So, what do you think? Do you like it? Any suggestions? Is it even worth finishing?

It's defiantely worth finishing cory. You did an amazing job with Culmination. Plus, the structures you've already got look stunning.

So far the map looks good aesthetic-wise. I would really like to see the finished product of this map to see if it has cool gameplay. How long do you think you will take to finish?

The aesthetics are something that I just kind of come up with while I forge, the design is where the map really will shine. There will be a lot more to the map that goes beyond the center area, that will balance out the players so they aren't centered around the 2 side passages and the upper center structure.

I would say about 3 weeks to finish, I'll try to keep you guys updated.

The map looks very good, but I would consider removing the Transport Hornet. They are very weak and normal Hornets are too overpowered. Otherwise you should finish the map! It's astounding!

Yeah your maps pretty much speak for themselves. And just like your other maps, I'm sure this one will also have a good design. Can't wait to see it.

I'm most likely going to finish this, but Halo Reach will only be a few weeks away at this point... :)

Anyways, if I do remake this for Reach, I could definitely see the aesthetics being revamped as a mountain instead of the these clean Forerunner aesthetics. The bases could be put into the mountain as a bunker and hills could be made for the side walls.
