A desert thats home to 4 ruined gas stations and the zombie infested hotel. Welcome to former Vegas. After the infection occured in Las Vegas, this was all that was left. The basic idea of the map is to drive around to survive, or defend yourself at the gas stations. The twist is that you cannot drive without picking up a custom powerup. This powerup lets you drive for only one minute, so once that minute passes you will automaticly be forced out of the vehicle. To prevent getting custom powerups when you already have one, and zombies from getting the powerup, they are on small columns, so Zombies and powered up humans have very high gravity. Got all that? Grabbing a custom powerup or, gas This is the Human spawn or grocery store, where you will find a few weapons The RED Gas station The interior of the RED Gas station The BLUE Gas station The Gas station on the hill with no color... The Hotel/zombie spawn The zombie spawn/ second floor of the hotel A holdout in the ruined city Another holdout Action shots: I ran out of gas here: Download Map here: Bungie.net : Halo 3 File Details Download gametype here: Bungie.net : Halo 3 File Details
I agree with him btu what I do like is the idea of the "Gas". I think that is pretty original, that you have to get gas for your car and then stop for more along the way. Pretty creative if you ask me.
Thats a really cool idea! You have a very creative gametype idea here I think. I would love to play it sometime with you. What's your gamertag? I will add you if you want, or you could send me a message for a time to play this sometime if your friend's list is full or something. The forging is alright for your map. Its hard to spread stuff way out on Sandbox. So the forging just being ok not great is understandable to me. Its not bad though. If I wasn't working on two maps already, I would start on a map to make use of this gametype. Well, maybe lol. I always have way more ideas for maps than I can possibly make lol.
Man this is really fun to play on. That is a good idea you got there. "Gas" is a great and fun idea to help zombies get vehicles. I think the shotgun should not be a starting weapon(too much ammo and easy to kill zoms). Might want to interlock a bit with the $200 you have left. Once again, epic idea and map.
Thanks for the feedback. This was kind of a test for this gametype cuz i didnt want to spend too much time on a map if the gametype didnt work --- I'll play a custom on it just message gt: ringOFtones
The Forging is just a little bit sloppy but I really like the concept of the Gas, very original! I'd be the person who runs out of gas on the opposite side of the map and has to walk to a gas station though. And can the Humans ride shotgun without the power-up, or do they need it?
Oh man I love this idea! very creative. Pretty cool that you utilized the whole wasteland and ghost merged various buildings throughout it. Just maybe ran out of juice on a few of them. Either way good stuff
If I DL'd this I would feel compelled to touch it up in forge, so instead I am going to comment and then DL the v2. This is a very creative idea you have in gas. I hope that you perfect this map, because such an ingenious idea as gas deserves a perfectly made map to go with it! Look forward to the V2, and if I dont see it soon, I will come back to get this v1. Might I suggest that you not make the gravity too hard on the zombies and gas-guzlers? It is frustrating in customs when you cannot jump. I might use this idea for mongoose-doors: custom power-upped individuals would have security access
Ill get started on the v2 then, btw they cant jump high because otherwise the zombies could grab powerups, and people that already have powerups could get an unlimited supply of gas
Just here to reply on your thread. GREAT IDEA and a great map as well. I'm definately hoping for a version 2 and possibly a 3. Anyone that agrees with this should help support for a v2.
I realize why you had to do that, I just am suggesting that you do not over-do it. Just make it difficult to take 2, but making it absolutely impossible would mean you really could not jump, which is annoying- also for the map, make sure everything is smooth for the players that cant jump =) Good luck, and feel free to add me on XBL to get feedback or help while you are making it (if you want)
Wow I'm not the only one with the "gas" idea. I tried worling on that a while ago but it didn't work out and I never finished the map. Well congratulations on getting it out there. I like the overall feel to the map, out in the middle of nowhere sort of feel. Once I can get my friends on Halo 3 for once, I'm definately throwing this right at them. I played it with a few friends (like 2 or 3, but not a lot). I want to get a big group to play this. Really great job! Oh, and make sure to keep the zombies away from the "gas" that was my main problem.
If anyone actually looks at this thread that was here before I am restarting my v2 it was originally a kind of prequel to this map called las vegas, but it wasn't working for the gametype, so my new map working name is "afghan refinery"
This looks awesome, but I'm not too sure about the the idea of the Humans not being able to fill up on gas until they're empty. I'm not sure about the custom powerup respawn times, but it seems odd to me that you have to basically get stuck without a drivable vehicle in order to fill up. But then again, it does seem like an interesting way to allow the humans to romp around in vehicles for a bit while forcing them to get out and cover eachother while they gas up, giving overwhelmed zombies a chance to strike. Definite dl.
This idea is genius! I think you've inspired me to try and make a game off this game type! I like your map and I would like to see a V2 also. I'm looking forward to it
That's really weird because just yesterday i was wondering how the Custom Powerup would affect Vehicle use once it ran out, now i know lol. Normally i wouldn't download something like this....but because you said you would download and review my map i will at least give you a download. And just from the Post it look's pretty good.
