If there are enough rocks, I would like to make a racetrack that goes through a man made cave. It could be out in the ocean, just touching the surface of the water, for that damp/dripping look. These racetrack ideas sound epic.
All I can think about making is a map entirely focused on jumping off the waterfall... I love that waterfall so much right now...
Perhaps, but I honestly don't know how to pull it off, Want to co-forge it when you get the time? I am also debating the use of one way shield doors, If I(we?) use them to block the vehicles out of the bases, the players wont be able to grab the flag/arm the bomb. Unless its for slayer. hmm maybe we(?) should just add side doors with shied doors, for the players.
Thats something that can be figured out as soon as i understand what you just said lol. But yeah i love narrows, and if its something that can be done well ill totally join you. But first priority is the [redacted] map.
Just to clarify, In the OP, I said that there should be 1-way shield doors on each side of the bridge, and then you could take vehicles out into a battle. Then I realized that with only 1-way shield doors on each side, you cant get the enemy objectives, cancelling the incentive to go that way. To fix this, I suggested that we build side doors with 2-way shield doors, so vehicles still cannot pass, but players can. Maybe instead of the two curved walkways, we could have one, and vehicle cannons; because those would be powerful enough to push players across the gigantic pit. If you want, I could get a quick sketch in paint or something, if this is still to hard to follow, just ask, and I'll PM it to you.
Aw come on. I want to do SkyRail. I tried to do it in halo 3 like 20 times and ended up doing it in FarCry. I posted on the Halo Reach thread "do you think we could make the lift from SkyRail" and now like 20 people want to do it. ):
I copy/pasted this from a post of mine on another thread. The idea I is an idea for a casual race map. The race track would be enclosed in a tower, and would spiral downward until it reaches a vehicle teleporter that sends people back up to the top of the track. Behind the teleporter would be a pit (possibly into the ocean) at the bottom. The twist would be that killballs would spawn at the top and roll down the track into the pit at the bottom of the map. So people would not only have to race each other, but would also have to dodge kill balls.
Well, it is my favorite multiplayer map of all time. There are only 2 problems with making it in Reach. First, we need a hill similar to Skyrail, but I dont think that's going to happen, so we might have to deal with the Blood Gulch canyon. Second is the actually Skyrail. You need something like a tube that has a bunch of grav lifts/man canonns in it that can propel either a vehicle or something yoj can stand in. It's just too hard to come up with concrete ideas without actually having Reach.
Another idea I have is to make an Alcatraz cops and robbers map on the island. You start out in your cells and have to escape (or stay and do the cops bidding) using a series of secret tunnels and passages(probably made out of rocks phased together), or you could organize a "riot" and try to escape using brute force. If you escaped the prison you would then have to escape the island. To do this you would have to drive a partly submerged warthog(which would be the "boat") along a submerged path. To prevent people from walking across there would be a teleporter under the path after a couple of blocks. It would only affect people and would teleport them into a death zone or under the water. Once you have reached the main landmass you must hide, or you can get better weapons and launch an assault on the prison. That's my idea.

I'll be making an avalanche-esque 2-team map on the island, and also manipulating the canyon to make an awesome-er remake of blood gulch (screw coagulation =P) but in all honesty, I already know that I'll be making a huge structure embedded into the island, and probably another on the other side. yay avalanche!
You all should be on the lookout for a map of mine that wasn't finished. You might have heard of this map called Kinetica? Yes, Kinetica is coming to Reach. I can't stand H3 forge anymore, and Reach's forge looks so intuitive, similar to sketchup. Kinetica will be first, then possibly Nemesis or remake Telekinesis. Doubt I'll do Empire, which none of you have seen, but a secret map entitled Ultimatum I might consider making. I've got many more free ideas in my head, but none that are solid enough to share. And some I want to be kept in secrecy.
I plan to make a huge spiraling structure on the rock, a seaside town on the island for infection, and a remake of my map Z-house on the feild.
A map I designed for Sandbox, derived from one of the first levels in H3's campaign. The surrounding scenery would work incredibly well for it.
I know for a fact that I'm going to start the month of September out with some forge wars with my friends just because Forge World looks perfect for that. Then I'm most likely going to start building remakes of Battlefield: Bad Company 2 maps, or Halo: CE campaign maps. Though I do feel like Bad Company 2's multiplayer maps would work perfectly in Halo: Reach, especially Conquest.
This is my latest design. The river would be made with the water from Forge world and I think I might have the Waterfall pouring into the center of the map.
Work? It's just aesthetics, but I'll leave cracks in my phased volcano, so the glow from the kill balls will look like streams.
