Shipment Created By: MetaWaddleDee Recommended Players: 2-6 Recommended Gametypes: Team Slayer, FFA Slayer, Oddball I know what you’re thinking; I mean boxes? Simple boxes strewn around the map and you featured it, Forge Hub? I mean seriously, how did this come in second in the Foreign Treasures contest? Well, very opinionated sir I have something to tell you. You should really do your homework. MetaWaddleDee’s Shipment is so much more than even the original Call of Duty 4 map is itself. Not only is it creative and well constructed enough to place second in the Foreign Treasures contest (pitted against some very hefty competition), its gameplay is very much on par with the best and most entertaining 2v2 maps of Halo 3. So before you try to blast this map for unoriginality or any other associated negative things, you should most certainly read what we have to say. While Meta’s Shipment did appear to be exceptionally well forged, I will admit I had some skepticism as to how unique and excellent a Shipment map could truly be. However, within seconds of my first game on Shipment I was blown away by just how enjoyable the map was to play on. While Meta’s limited jump height may be controversial to some, the accuracy it provides in regards to being a Call of Duty 4 remake is most definitely worth it, especially since one does not need a custom gametype. Continuing with the uniqueness, Meta used his abundance of items to create not only some very cool aesthetics but some very interesting map barriers as well; all the while keeping with the feel of the original Shipment. However, I personally believe that it is the shifts in Halo 3’s typical gameplay mechanics that have Shipment truly shining bright. With the lowered jump height and the close quarters, weapons such as the Brute Shot and the SMG become king, while longer lines of sight still allow for heated BR battles. Despite Shipments simplicity, the map plays very competitively and teams who stick together will win games. With a solid spawning system, great accuracy and a perfect mix of gameplay and aesthetics I’m not sure how anyone could argue that Shipment is in any way undeserving of its feature status. Congratulations MetaWaddleDee on a feat well accomplished. Really love this map. There is definitely a lot of creativity in this to make it work for Halo 3. A well deserved feature. Congrats.
Congratulations Meta! I hope you appreciate the poopy robes that we have rewarded you with. Rofl... Shipment is a great remake of Shipment.
i think shipment is a pretty cool guy. eh kicks rusts ass and doesn't afraid of anything So, really, great map.
Congratulashionz! at first, I was incredibly skeptical because all of my friends were like "I am voting for MetaWaddleDee's shipment" and didn't know how that is possible because there were hundreds of pretty basic shipment remakes that were made very quickly. I then played this map and began to excrete bricks. Way to think outside of the box by using the invisible ceiling as a gravity barrier. Plus the aesthetics are incredibly beautiful. EDIT: ...after actually going back and reading chrst's final paragraph with his own opinion, it is exactly the same as my first few sentences, but less dummed down -.- now I has no clue what to say so um... happy brownness
Congratulotions Meta! I've been pretty excited to see you get your premium with all the creative stuff you build. Well done! See you in the HubPub!
congrats man, nice map. Like the idea too, great remake. I kinda have the erge to make a remake of rust now
IMO, Meta should've won Foreign Treasures. Sentinel is accurate, beautiful and has great gameplay. To me, Shipment is MORE accurate, MORE beautiful and has BETTER gameplay. I'm not saying that Sentinel is bad, not at all. It's one of the best maps I've ever seen. But I think Shipment is just better and should've won. Either way, congrats Meta on the feature and on premium, you're one of the best mapmakers we have here. 10/10 hands down.
Not trying to reign on this parade or anything, but I made this same map on foundry a long, LONG time ago with the same gametype restrictions to allow it to play similiar to cod4. IMO, this is far from being worthy of a feature- no matter how pretty the aesthetics are.
Yes, but nothing is impressive about un-interlocked boxes on foundry with a required gametype. Meta made the ground, the walls surrounding it, the peices of cover that no one could make in foundry, and he made this map high in the sky-box so there is no need for a custom gametype. Try jumping on this map, it's in-escapable, no matter what settings are in place. I know you're peeved that your remake didn't get as much attention but consider that this was entered in a contest where second place was guaranteed a feature. But this map defientely deserved a feature, in my opinion.
Congrats Erick, we definitely need to get a couple more games on here. I'm really excited to see what you're capable of making in Reach. Your creativity blows me away.
Love it I even use my own weird L4D game type on this and we all had so much fun on this map. I like how many people all ready know this map on Call of Duty 4 but this is great. I hope you make much more then this as far as remakes of Call of Duty.
