Anyone else seen it? It's amazing in my opinion. A film i could put up there as being as good an experience as Dark Knight or Avatar 3D. I really want to see it again, to pick up on some other things. And if you haven't seen it, i highly suggest you go to the cinemas now :p.

Gonna go see it sometime this week. Right now I don't have any expectations because I don't really know what it's about other than the simple premise of what's already been shown in the trailers, so I probably will end up enjoying it a lot, like I did with the two other movies you mentioned...

haha. The film really is a thinker so to speak. The beginning is not that great, it doesn't really explain anything, just gives us a small example of what the film is about, but it sort of explains itself as the film continues.

No, this movie is in an entire different league then Dark Knight and Avatar. Avatar was all special effects, but the story line was Gone with the Wind except with blue people. Dark Knight actually had a story line, but it didnt leave you thinking afterword like all of Leonardo Decaprio's movies do. Shutter Island was also a damn good movie.

    Inception though, ****ing amazing.

Inception was amazing, but it left me so confused at the end. It's great when a film really makes you think.

Oh, and Ellen Page is looking pretty hot nowadays.

See, i agree with you wholeheartedly, but i think it's a certain type of film that some people wont like. But i guess you have that with every film lol.

Well I know what i'm going to see today. And Shutter Island was badass, and I wasn't really expecting the ending until 80% through the movie. Damn good.

Okay I saw Inception, maybe Leonardos' best movie. Great story and it actually made you think, even mathematically. You should definitely go see this movie, 95% awesome. I didn't really like Marion Cotillard in this movie... not that pretty to me.

I don't think anyone here is looking into it deep enough, or giving it appropriate credit. Loberg where are you.

    In regards to the end...

At first I thought his father would end up walking to the table with the spinner and setting it down, thus making Cobb think he was in the real world, whether he was or not. I choose to believe that it was going to fall over, but I'll never really know for sure.

I suppose it's entirely possible that he was just in another dream, and that he was only able to see his children's faces because he now realized that his wife's suicide wasn't his fault. It's perhaps a way to say that Cobb doesn't care whether this is a dream or not. He's happy now, and this is his reality.

Crazy good movie, I saw the midnight showing. The acting and storyline were both fantastic; also the way that Nolan gave the viewer multiple ways to interpret the meaning of the movie was cool.

@Shatakai: Good analysis of the end...I agree with you.

Inception had one of the best mythologies of any intellectual property I've seen in a long time. It didn't really set up for a direct sequel, but I absolutely want to see more stories set in that world. Another movie, a videogame, a TV show, whatever.

    So I am assuming you're like 14 or 15 years old? I hope. o_O

Anyway, I haven't yet seen Inception, but I definitely will be going soon. Looks amazingly epic and that's what I've heard from just about everyone.

They descended into several levels of the dream in the movie while going DOWN:

    Awake (on the plane)
    Level One (car chase)
    Level Two (hotel)
    Level Three (ice fortress)
    Level Four (leonardo's personal world)

At the end, count the number of dreams he went down into; he was in the fourth level. He took a different path back up:

Level Four (leonardo's personal world, and also the place where he meets the super old version of the asian dude, notice the similar beaches)
    Level Three (The fake plane)

Hmm........ It seems as if he is still extremely deep within the dream. If i remember correctly at this level it is still something like twelve years before he wakes all the way up. That is my first interpretation of that.

Another thought is that they never woke all the way up when he and his wife were having their suicidal episodes. He mentioned that they kept going deeper, but they only came out once. That was the world he thought was true and real, so since he beleived in it the top did not work until the end.

YET ANOTHER possible side of the story; notice how he was interrupted when trying to spin the top after he first tries the new super-sedetive? Well its possible that this was a fifth layer of the dream making it more like this:

Awake (basement with sleeping old people)
    Level One (plane)
    Level Two (car chase)
    Level Three (hotel)
    Level Four (ice fortress)
    Level Five (personal world)

In this line of thinkin he could have come all the way back up to level 1 which was a startlingly accurate recreation of the real world, and it might be his creation so he has total control over it. In this scenario everything fits just as well as the others.

Obviously this movie had a lot of thinking going on, and i want sarge in here for his opinions on my thoughts naow! We need some deep eye-opening discussions into the human psyche going on in this thread by the end of the week. Also hopefully somebody will have had similar thoughts and be able to go into more detail than I, explaining all possible loopholes created by my theories.

I went to see it the other day, loved it. The pacing at the beginning seemed really rushed to me but it made sense by the end, there was a lot to establish before the mission started. The main reason I wanted to see it is because it's based on lucid dreaming, something I'm really interested in (which helped a lot in understanding what was going on). Needless to say, many of the concepts weren't very accurate. But I think the conceptual liberties added up some really great story elements, nonetheless. The story was incredible, in my opinion.

What he said. Leo DeCaprio has really become an amazing actor. I saw Inception twice, the first time in IMAX; if you haven't seen it yet, you definitely should (in IMAX). I'm definitely buying when it comes out on DVD.
