    I have been working on firefight maps for over a year now. I have created firefight 1 and 2 but was never satisfied. I have also never posted on ForgeHub before. I've always loved forge and when I found this place, I knew I had to post some of my work. Before I get into my life story, here's FireFight 3.

    The map is roughly medium size compared to other sky bubble maps.

    This is where the four spartans spawn. Custom power-ups are heathpacks.

    This is one of the six Covy spawns. The spawns are: Grunt, Jackel, Elite, Brute, Hunter and Brute Chieften/ Elite Captain.

    So basically the spartans defend there positions until they die. The
    Covenent attack until the Spartans are dead.

    Spartan Traits: InsaneFight Firefight3.0/rocketfight Sheilds and Health -
    Damage resistance: 150% 300%
    Shield multiplyer: normal normal
    Recharge rate: none (healthpack)

    Grunt- needler 45 secs
    Jackel- Carbine 30 sec, beam rifle 60 secs, deployable cover 45 sec
    Elite- plasma rifle 30 secs, sword 60 secs
    Brute- Spiker 30 secs, mauler 45 secs, brute shot 45 secs, bubble shield.
    Hunter- 2x Overshield 30 secs
    Chieftan- Hammer 30 secs, sword 30 secs, plasma cannon 60 secs, 2x overshield

    UPDATE:There will be a FireFight 4 map with many improvements. I haven't started yet though. If you have any ideas for the map or gametype please put it in the comments below.

    I have seen this type of gametype and map used many, many times.

    Let me start off with the map. To be honest, it looks sloppy, because you didn't merge it. Merging makes a map looks so much neater and makes it more playable by preventing mishaps from unwanted holes or cracks from the effects of none merging.

    I would really like to know how this map is sloppy. The blocks on the ground are there to show that there was battles and stuff there. I did merge the map, I had to merge the floor so I could make the map the shape I wanted it to be. Also when I started making my firefight maps I didn't even know others did this already. Only recently have I seen that people have already made them. One thing that makes my gametypes different then a lot of theres is that I included three different gametypes, all of which people have really enjoyed. One last thing, did you actually give this map a chance or did you judge it by its look?

    I was giving constructive critisim, which is what your going to get anywhere you present the map to, that is something you are gonig to have to accept. We are here to give our own personal opinions, you may not like them but there is nothing you can do about that. If your only want to here meaningless crap like....

    Then your wasiting you time. That is a comment that should have never been posted. That does not even say what he liked about the map.

    You have to understand, there are alot of forgers here, some way more expirienced then others, so when someone gives advice, take it, an use it to make an improvement for next time.

    i definitely like the idea of the map, but ya. Merging does make a map a whole lot better. And this isnt enough like firefight to be called firefight. I think u the gametype is very creative though.

    I can take critisim but when i do merge the objects, i don't want to be told that I didn't when I actually did. Also that comment from KingBez was pretty dumb.

    I gotta agree with JP on this one it does look a bit sloppy. (It would be nice if you took off the effects for brighter pictures).

    In the second picture 'health' I look at the wood floor at the bottom of the screen and I see a large bump. And in the first picture, I had to maximize for a better look, but I even see large bumps. One being a double wall on the far left side.

    And several of the 'wedges' (I believe is what they are called, I forgot) are little uneven. Meaning they have spaces inbetween theml that don't look good.

    Frankly, I barely see any merging in this, and the little thats there could be improved upon. I'm sorry but I think this could be seriously remade.

    Side Note: Firefight for over a year now? When firefight wasn't released until Sep. 22, 2009. Seems.... off

    First note. Map does look like it took a little effort to make. Gametype is creative, but exactly where do the covies come out of? Oh wait I found it and it looks like it's easy to camp on. Plus the map could be a little bigger. It actually looks small in comparison to most firefight maps. Plus I just wanna say there is very little cover and it looks like SHotgun Br sniper camping will be common, especially with rockets. I'd merge more. Make the covie spawns a lil less campable, and make the map bigger, thats all i gotta say.

    P.S. I saw where you did merge and it is mostly neat ;D

    I will admit that I havnt played this yet, but I have played enough infection to usually get a good idea based on just pics and I gotta say that you might want to consider making a Firefight 4. The map is so small and the way it is structured I can tell that it promotes camping, and yes, I know everyone tends to camp in Firefight but you could atleast try to prevent that seeing as you are not mowing down AI, your mowing down real players that will eventually leave if things dont show any hope of changing. Another thing I would like to touch on is the spawning...damn...thats just asking to get camped. Also the health packs seem like a bad idea because they promote staying in that area, not to mention it would be better used on the chieftain or hunter to replicate them better. Now if im wrong about this then ignore everything I have said except this: either post better pictures or a video because honestly I had alot of trouble even getting this far in advice/criticsm/whatever. Videos tend to show gameplay better and for something like this you want to prove that it plays well. Last thing I gotta point out is that gameplay and canon dont always go hand in hand. I see that you were trying to make this as alike to the real Firefight as possible, but gameplay comes first so you cant think about it the same way. Your playing with real people!

    Yeah I would download the map, as it looks well thought out and the spawning system looks good with its way to determine what 'covenant' member the player will be, but I have extremely bad trouble reading anything in red, so If you could kindly edit it so it isn't red anymore, I wouldd be very thankful.

    well unlike any person on forge hub, I actually did download and played the map with the gametype before commenting. The small bumps dont effect gameplay and the spawn system is pretty well-made. there is well-provided cover for the covies and I like how there are different types of covie in this game its pretty sweet. and ya guys you can really only judge the map by playing it, because anyone can judge it by a picture so download it before getting a post in

    Hey man, when i first joined forge hub and posted my first map i received exactly the same kind of criticism. I thanked the people who commented and who gave their opinions and constructive criticism and moved on. Now to get to the point my map was kinda like yours but worse lol. The hint is not to get discouraged, take what they say onboard and continue forging. (Good luck and all credit to you for the hard work you put in even if you did have a rough start like me.)
