Map Title: Kura's Fall Download Map Description: This is a simple map for those who like fast paced free for all slayer games...except in this case fast paced doesn't do it justice. Built in the foundry, the cage is a long corridor no more than the height of a wall wide and 3 box's high. It features 4 transporters that drop you from the the top of the map onto 4 transporters on the cage floor. The transporter sequence works as follows T.......1...2...3.......4............T = top ...........\...\...\...../..............B = bottom B....(s)...2...3..4.1..(s)..........s = start point Each bottom transporter is seperated by a fence wall and angled against each fence is a double wall directing fallers into their next transporter if they need it, it also provides an excellent slayer landscape for ground battles within the corridor, preventing shooting from end to end and providing cover before escaping through your nearest transporter. After thorough testing, I can vouch that you exit transporters at the speed you enter and this map can make you reach falling speeds that will disorientate the hell out of you. The top level of the cage has 4 seperated ledges that can be used for camping...if you think you can aim fast enough to catch a perpetual faller. The map has 2 starting points on either end and each side only has 4 respawn points. You may think thats to little but you'll find opponents more willing to run for the transporter rather than camp the spawn points as the person they kill could get the assasination 5 seconds later. There are 4 sender nodes outwith the cage for those who find a way out or through some miracle spawn outside the cage, but they are all that exists outside Gametype: Free for all Slayer, Max 8 players Weapons: none. The map is to fast to have them, i recommend altering your slayer settings to a set primary weapon and have secondary on random, which will fill up the cage with many weapons very quickly. Grenades should be regenerative and of course infinite ammo. I would appreciate it if those who download would remember to rate it...preferably after they've been in a hardcore slayer match or if your a keen forger...after you've appreciated the interlocking and precision. So, you constantly fall down speed up? And yet you have to try kill others? Somehow, I fail to see how this can be too fun. And before others start complaining, you should have more than one pic. I can't really see anything other than the teleporters.
Lets be fair here. Forge isn't perfect and you aren't always going to land every single fall into the next transporter without some serious practice. you will reach a certain speed or you will move your body and you will land on some other part of the cage. Thats how you reach the ledges or travel along the angled floors in the opposite direction of the way the transporters take you. The fun is in just how crazy it is. not only do you have to keep track of others you have to keep track of yourself. It's hard theres no question. And i explained about the screenshots. i followed the image code perfectly. it simply wouldn't work. i will add in an edit when it does work and i have left a link to the shots themselves in the meantime. it's 1 extra click. also if you click on download map, there is an interior action shot embedded in the bungie post. Only one pic?!?! I have to yoink a pie for this one! YOINK! Seriously though, one picture won't do this map justice.
If you like people escaping from your maps, don't add a roof over the ledges. I actually think the interior is really cool, but coupled with the teleporters, eh not so much. Especially at a height so short, you are going way to fast and in the same direction to do much. This is much more a casual map then a competitive one.
You have a very interesting concept for a map, and for that I applaud you. It pays to be original here so keep doing what you're doing. I'll have to play this to see how the game play is, but it seems like it would have some fun moments. Welcome to forgehub!
I thought about putting it in casual. This map was made with the intention of being a crazy game to counteract the monotony of regular halo for a couple of games when it gets a bit boring. It just turned out to be so competitive in testing that i felt it belonged here. I believe you'll understand when you play. The height is all that bungies map would allow otherwise it would have been a totally different kind of map. But believe me after you've gotten used to what happens in the map you'll find yourself tracking down opponents in mid fall very quickly. This is a great map to test your reflexes. As for people escaping, thats up to them, the cage is where the action is, doesn't mean you cant use the whole thing to your advantage.
