My new map eXodus is currently about 45% 95% complete and will be my last map before Reach comes out... The map will hopefully currently supports: Team Slayer Multiflag King of the Hill Oddball Assault Juggernaut VIP Multi-team It will have variants for: REGEN King + Ball MLG Team King MLG Team Slayer The map itself is built entirely on the decorative markings made by bungie in the crypt. The only items NOT on these markings are the 4 stone bridges that provide a jump up to each base and provide a small amount of cover from cross map shoot outs. Hope you guys like it... --- Pictures
Dude that looks sweet, i don't know how your gona go about a middle piece though, maybe something hanging?? Anyway it looks really epic i just hope you come up with some kick ass stuff for the rest of it. NVM just read the X shaped part haha, well maybe they will have to be flat V's instead of actual bases with some random top cover?
This does look pretty sweet man, lol. Are those going to the the two bases for the Red and Blue team? Then I am guessing you are gonig to put stuff aorund the bases right.
Nope... andd... Nope. The bases you see in the pictures are neutral bases that house a power weapon each and provide a series of different ways to commute to the opposite side of the map with varying levels of cover. The red and blue base which will be at the other two walls (again in a triangular shape) is also ground level + upper level + access to roof, although in general. The main bases are much smaller. Weapon layout is yet to be concluded, but as of now, it has a sniper in Gold, and a rocket launcher in Purple --- Just finished the first version of the map. It's taken me ages I just need some testers now to see what weapons work. I've currently overloaded the map with weapons and equipment.. but here goes. Weapons: 1 Rocket Launcher 1 Sniper Rifle 8 Battle Rifles 2 Carbines 2 Needlers 4 Plasma Pistols (2 are decorative) Equipment: 2 Regenerators 2 Bubble Shields 2 Power Drains 1 Gravity Lift 1 Overshields 8 Plasma grenades Vehicles: 4 Mongeese
Bases look fantastic, great, original idea. As for the X shape of the surrounding walls you mentioned, perhaps consider leaving a few gaps/lower sections of wall towards the "center" of the X (obviously still blocking it off further back) so that you do not entirely block the across map lines of sight? That's probably quite hard to understand haha.
I'm slightly confused now...Did you delete the bases? or are these pictures older than the map I played on?
Lol nah... those arent "bases" those were the centre structures you spawn in that housed rockets / sniper Its change.. theres now no ramp to the centre to get up top on those sections, its replaced by a door. Theres a shotgun placed at the edge.. I'll re-upload new pictures. The actually bases changed slightly.. in the sense i merged two coloured columns into the edge, it stops it from appearing as open as they were. Had a quick game of crazy king and oddball on it.. Gameplay seems to be alot better. Still... could do with a 3v3 test. New weapon and equipment list: Weapons: 2x Sniper Rifles 2x Shotguns 8x BR 4x Carbine 4x SMG 4x Plasma Rifle 4x Plasma Pistol Equipment: 1x Grav Lift 1x OS 1x Regen 1x Power Drain 2x Bubble Shields Gametypes: Slayer CTF KOTH Ball Territories Assault Juggernaut and VIP have spawns placed, but I don't think it'd suit very well..
Might I suggest a name change for your fine map? I have a pretty well known map named Exodus recognized both here at FH as well as the MLG forums. I would just like to avoid any discrepancies. It's link is in my signature.
Ture, that was my first thought when I saw the Thread title Anyway the Maps concept looks really interesting, I hope I can join the testing
You can in 5 minutes lol Solo: I would change the name, but it's intentionally spelt differently. eXodus not Exodus. With halo 3 reaching its primetime end, many maps have been named similarly and eventually there will be very few names left before people start calling maps Egg, or Fruitloaf.. because everything "original" has already been taken. They're also built on different maps so there shouldn't be any confusion between the two in fairness. So Sorry, but I'd rather keep the name as it stands.
When we played on this it was a load of fun! Very well made and well thought out, good job. I almost beat you, you sneaky ninjanaught you!
Ummm, not really. everything seemed to be very smooth and cleanly made. except for the bottoms of the two bases with the angled walls in the first picture. If you could extend those out it would be easier to go from the bottom to the top of those bases easier.
Haaa!! not a chance! They have to be like that for gameplay sake. Tis like the jump thing on MLG onslaught using the doors, it's a quick way up, but trickier than the ramps. You'll just have to time you're jumps better --- New Pictures for you kiddies
I love what you have done with the middle of the map! I did think it was a bit plain and needed something there. Is it still possible to easily drive the mongoose under the bridge?
Mongooses are no longer on the map. They weren't really used except for messing around on really. I only ever used them on territories to get to the enemies first territory while people were battling it out for the central territory, but other than that, they were pretty useless. Cheers b3nwiva3
Definitely far better than average. The bridges are mighty sexy, especially how you can enter the side base by going under them. I really don't think you'll have any problems with design. The only thing that could make this map unsuccessful is weapons, spawns, or objectives. I would focus on that.
