Foundry Combat Zone

    New to forgehub! My new map, "Combat Zone". Combat Zone consists of two sniper towers, some rooms/hallways, a few traps, alleyways, and maybe one or two camping spots (but at least one of the walls in a camping spot is a fence wall, so you can shoot at them through it). This map took me about six days to make, so I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

    Best Game plays for this map are team slayer, free-for-all slayer, and one flag.

    To get the best out of this map, play with at least 4 players in a free-for-all slayer match, play with at least 6 players in a team slayer match (3 players per team), and play with at least 6 players in a one flag match (3 players per team).

    Note: BEWARE! There are traps all over this map. If you accidentally bump into one, no matter what, your dead.

    not quite man, i realize your new but conquest is a specific gametype, it is meant to be a 1 path map set up for territories, this isn't.
    Look up some conquest maps, they are completely different from this

    ok im gonna tell you wut i was told when i first started forging it might seem harsh but it helped me....your map looks sloppy and i feel tht ur whole heart wasnt in it when making it, when you make a map think to yourself how will this affect the other people when they play on this map, what will they look at and take attention to? It will always come down to wanting the people who play the map go away with a sence of 1. KEEPING the map in their saved files 2. Showing others your map 3. wanting them to take one of your ideas and influence their next map. and theirs alot others but keep those keypoints when making a map. Also if u see something thts not lined up correctly or looks glitchy REDO it i see alot of maps on here tht have tht problem and the first thing i think is tht their lazy. its not impossible to fix it and with ghost merdging it should be easy. just take your time. besides tht just keep in mind the different gametypes u want to be played on your map and make sure they are balanced right or people usually tend to ***** ex. upper advantage in flag, or or too many cramped spaces so nade bouncing becomes the most annoying thing ever.....Anyway i hope i helped a little and if you ever have any questions dont hezitate to ask me...I hope to see what your next map looks like

    Please remove the bold faced font, it isnt necessary as you are not trying to emphasize any text. Also, please try to use proper grammer and something called Line Breaks, they are inserted by pressing the (return) key and they allow people to more easily understand your thoughts. The same goes for Periods. Not what your mom is having, but that little dot that, along with sperm shaped commas, helps people better interpret your meaning that you hid in your words. Next, until that little title above your post count no longer says 'Junior Member' you probably shouldnt be condescending towards a new-timer, because you still technically one yourself. Finally, if that above post hadnt included everything before the et cetera (...) then there is nothing rude about it, and people would have simply viewed it as you trying to help him as best you can without being too rude. Instead, you look like a condescending 8 year-old, which is simply a contradiction because there is almost nothing that an 8 year-old could possibly be condescending about. Please keep this in mind for the future, because we all want to make sure that this community is kind, respectful, and intellegent. And that post, was none of them.

    Okay... now that im done with that... This map seems like you had no idea what you were doing while you build it. It has elements that touch on brilliance, such as the shotty pillar, and some things that just dont make sense (splaser on foundry???) Also, there were waaaaaay too many weapons. Ive got a thread that you may like that covers this aspect of forging, and hopefully will help you a bit. I reccomend that you pay attention to the Moderation section. Finally; never, ever, EVER put traps into a competitive map. Now that you have, it technically belongs in the wonderful Casual Maps section. Given just a small amount of time and effort into remaking this, and i see something great in the future. Build it off the sniper & shotty towers, they RA3P.

    kid i have many accounts on forgehub and ive probably been forging more than you ever have. as for my grammar i dont feel it is necessary to type correct grammar on a forum....plz get over yourself. what i typed for him....is for him..not you if you dont like it too bad the feedback wasnt ment for you u appently must suck at forging or u probably would have agreed with wut i said

    The thing is that the way your explaining it to the new guy seems very blunt to say to well... a new guy. As for the spelling, it would be much nicer to spell correctly so it is easier to read and understand. Also you wouldn't look like some illiterate 12 year old in everyone's eyes.

    Trust me I would have tried to have correct punctuation but right this second I'm kind of busy doing something....I would like to say it more politely to him as well but like I said before it is what was told to me. I dont know how he takes feedback. But I do have to agree with you. I was wrong Feedback should be neutral. But I did feel like I should put some "pointers" in there for him in order to help him. Would you not agree though, mainly about the three specific points I made? It's three components that make up a good map. (thanks for the reminder and maybe next time I'll remember to be "nicer" in my next post)

    I know it might be hard for you to realize, but people don't listen to you if you sound like an idiot. Oh and I'm sure that having "multiple Forgehub accounts" really entitles you to tell people like yoyo off. If you really want to help this guy become a better forger, maybe tell him something about forge. Maybe some constructive criticism perhaps. Anything besides the crap you just threw into this thread.

    Alright well at least you realized a little that you weren't really helping all that much. So I apologize partially for up there ^^^. However, if you had time to post, you had time to post with thought and constructive criticism.

    As for the map, it looks a lot like many people first maps. It needs some work but nothing that isn't beyond fixing. Maybe as a new forger you should check out some of the forging 101 and 291 tips. Those will really help you in the long run. Another suggestion I have is to look at some of the more experienced members maps. Take what you see in there maps (neatness, design, weapon placement, etc) and try and apply some of it to maps you make in the future. When I was new to forging, I tried to make a lot of maps, thinking that the more I made, the higher quality they would become. This is not the best way to approach it. On your next map, take your time. Make sure you have all the little details fixed and neat. Good luck with forge!

    Okay, I'll offer up some advice.

    The first thing that struck me was that the map had very little height difference and noticeable structures.All you have is ground and one floor up. Sniper rifle will rape on top. No one will want to be there.

    What you did with weapon placement is unorganised. You've just plonked them down with little thought as to how well it will play. The only thought I can see is, "OMG, that would be awesome" and then plonking a weapon down in cool places.

    In future, make maps that have height and structures. Structures control where you want players, and height adds more variety than just a bland couple of layers. Weapon placement is important. Learn what works, and never over populate a map with poorly chosen weapons.
