Hi there guys, my name is Kung Fu Jesus. I found the name interesting because it's Japanese for killer. Really, though, it's because the Avatar: Abridged Series is awesome. I'm Asian and living in a suitable house, I think. Well... A house. Sometimes I pick my nose when no one's watching. Except for all those times I mess up, I'm perfect. I've been following you guys for a while now (a few years, maybe three, but I stopped counting, although I never started in the first place, which kinda defeats the purpose of me saying that because you'd have to start in order to stop, it's some kind of physical math law by a famous guy, I'm sure), no puns intended, although I seriously doubt there were any there. Anyway, that means I'm a stalker, and that I know my stuff about Forge and Halo. I'm also into Photoshop, kittens, orange juice (I love me some pulp), Xenomorphs, Facebook (for the games, of course), and I'm a percussionist (I hate metal drumming, lulz), too. I started this off generically enough, so I might as well end it the same way. Well, here you go: I'm really looking forward to a good time at this forum. I hope you guys are nice to noobs, unlike the Bungie forums that I really dislike. Can you guys show me where to start off? I really like that five step program, by the way. Usually whenever I register at forums I end up just saying, "Hi, I like you guys." They don't respond.
Hi there! Imma keep it simple. This is Forging 101. Any questions about forge? Want to learn new techniques? Go here! Forging 101 - Forge Hub These are our rules! http://www.forgehub.com/forum/announcements/89837-forum-rules.html The biggest thing new members have trouble with is map posting. Basically, have pictures. That's really the only problem they have. If you don't, you're thread will be locked until you post them and it will be locked for good after 24 hours. To post pictures, save them to your computer from bungie.net, then upload them to an image hosting website, such as photobucket. Then, copy the IMG bar underneath the picture on the site and paste it in your post. Good luck! ;D
I dislike Necromorphs to some extent...Anyways, welcome to 4Chub! (Here's hoping you end up in the pool of four or five people who post actual comments, and not one sentence of Spamness.) Cheers, HarisSales.
Okay, if you are a percussionist then you and i will get along perfectly. And what is it that you dislike about metal drumming? I personally hate how most of it is unoriginal and easy, but sometimes there is a drummer who knows his beats in the metal area, like Danny Carey. Either way, ill agree with you cus most of it sucks lol.
Thanks guys, I feel welcome already. A muffin would've been nice, though. Or a fish stick. That's kinda why. I'm not a total hater, though. I mean, I don't exactly hate it, I'm sure there are some good stuff in metal drumming. I'm more of a jazz or hip-hop guy though.
You were very sympathic, until you mentined that you dislike metal drumms, allow me to convice you ... Spoiler YouTube- SuidAkrA - Darkane Times YouTube- Gojira - The Art Of Dying + LYRICS YouTube - Top 20 Metal Drummers of All Time!
True dat, some are absolutly spectacular. But the vast majority are just copying my good friend Jordison for every one of their rythyms, which is not the greatest thing ever lol
Oh, I see. It's cool that you hate new guys; we all do, sometimes. But do me this one favor: Don't take me for an idiot. Neither a threat nor a word of advice, just a simple request. I just hate metal drumming in general, there are bound to be some good stuff found in that genre, like with all types of music.
Jazz and hip-hop. Like I said, in general, I just don't like it. I'm more into the type of sound that jazz drumming offers. I guess some of it's more of a preference to technique, too. Though... Really, it should always be about skill; the type of music you actually play should come second.
I'm no drummer, but I know some Jazz Songs, and you want to tell me those are more technical and involve more skill? But maybe you are right, it just doesn't seem to be that hard to play from my point of view For example, the second video seems to be a lot harder than the first one (may be a bad jazz example) Spoiler YouTube - Kai Hahto-Some Jazzy stuff YouTube - Kai Hahto - Sleeping Stars
Jazz just makes my ears a lot more comfortable than metal. I'm not saying either is harder than the other, I just like one's general technique and all that more, and the final result of what's being done. With me, I guess it's not really how hard it is to play, but if it's uniquely musical all on its own. A lot of jazz and hip-hop I've heard are carried somewhat gracefully by their drum beats, which can be music purely on it's own (something I love). I'm not really into the constant bass and/or cymbal beating that I've heard in the metal that I HAVE heard. I mean, it keeps beat and the mood, but further than that, I can't say anything hugely positive about it. And I guess I'm going to be biased in my opinion here, being more of a fan of the jazzy stuff, but if the second IS harder to play, not by much. It's just the amount of minor (or ghost) techniques found in the first that make it harder than it actually sounds - but you can say that about any type of music, really.
