Halo movie?

Although it is certain that no matter what happens, there WILL be Halo movie at some point, it probably isn't going to happen in the near future. (Although I would prefer that it would happen this year or in 2011, because we all know about what people have said about 2012 )

 

Movie ideas have been around for years. If they started it (and not canceled again) then i'm sure we would have heard of it by now. As far as I know the newest movie game is Mass Effect.

And as for 343, i'm pretty sure it's been confirmed that they would continue the franchise. As to where they would continue to, is a quite a mystery.

(As for the 2012 reference, don't go there)

 

Yeah, rumors of this have gone on and off for years. I say just wait until you see a trailer before speculating too much.

I doubt its ever gonna happen unless someone get some serious determination to get it done.

It would probably be the only movie I would see more than once at the theater on purpose.

Am I the only player who isn't interested in a Halo Movie? Look at 5 other game related movies and name 2 that don't suck.

 

All those live action trailers they make, god they need to make a movie. I will watch it one billion times in theatres, then I will buy one billion copies and watch it a billion (or ... one copy and watch it a billion times)

 

I would see Halo: The movie. I'm not sure exactly how long it would be and idk who would want to go sit through 3-4 maybe 5 hours of movie at once/

Maybe the would make one then a sequel???

I hope not. They'd probably kill Halo, just like Halo Legends (kind of) and Halo Wars (it killed canon).

Yar plasma, it should just be the general halo discussion, not reach. It doesnt pertain to reach even vaguly. And dont worry LD you arent the only one who is against this. I saw resident evil (XP) so i know how bad they can get.

 

Halo Wars did not kill cannon. Go ahead and try to explain that one. If you claim that they couldn't have met the flood, you're wrong. The entire ship is reported MIA for the UNSC and their slipspace generator was lost in order to destroy the forerunner fleet.

 

Resident evil movies were pretty good. And I liked the silent hill movie but that's not a universal opinion.

I'm trying to think of another game movie that came out recently that was good.

As long as it's not another "Doom" i think it'll be ok.

 

Even though video game movies notoriously suck, I'd like to see a halo movie just for the visuals they could create. IF it was done properly, it could be visually stunning. I was really excited when peter jackson was originally tied to the project.... as he actually plays the game, and has a OCD like attention to detail. Sadly, it couldn't be worked out.

as long as its not jj abrams i'll be fine with it

for those that still don't understand. Look at the article date in the OP. It was released on April 7th, 2010. On April 1st, they announced the release of a Halo movie and never announced that it was a joke until releasing that video a few weeks later pretty much saying "APRIL FOOLS"

There is never actually any real plans for a Halo movie. Every time someone lets out a rumor, it is because they misinterpret either an April Fools Joke or a Live Action Short that is made for promoting the video game...

 

Were does it state," The world is going to end on 2012."!? It doesn't!. So there you go!!

 

The cool thing is it will be written by Alex Garland. I know a lot of people don't know who he is but he is the guy that wrote the screenplay for the amazing sci-fi flick Sunshine.

 

There were plans, there's a video of peter jackson saying how excited he was to be working on the project.

I am so sick of hearing about the fear behind 2012. doesn't anyone remember that 10 years ago there was a huge fuss over something that was going to mean the end of the world? guess what, nothing happened. people have been saying the world was going to end since the beginning of time....

 

He was talking about the shorts (which is just a promotional video for Halo 3... It was pretty much a lengthened commercial.) that he produced and his original idea was shut down after he realized that he didnt have the financial coverage for a movie.

Its pretty much like saying that after watching the "we are ODST" commercial for Halo 3:ODST, people should start thinking "OMG AN ODST MOVIE!!!!"

 

Actually, Halo Wars punches Halo canon in the face, although not in the ways you said. The Flood and being lost in space are fine. Here's why Halo Wars screws up canon. For example, Spartans. They have energy shields shortly after Harvest was attacked, but in normal canon, they didn't get shields until shortly before the destruction of Reach, which is twenty years later. Also, Hornets, SMGs, and Spartan Lasers. Why do they exist twenty years before Halo CE, but are never shown until Halo 3? And the Arbiter. Upon being killed, a Spartan pushed the Arbiter's body off of the Apex, shortly before the Shield World was destroyed, destroying the ceremonial Arbiter armor, which would crush the Elite tradition of the Arbiter. However, it was seen again in Halo 2 and 3, which is impossible, because it was destroyed. And don't say that the Prophets would have made new armor, because that Elite Half-Jaw states that the Arbiter armor is ancient at the beginning level in Halo 2, when you first play as the Arbiter. That's some of the examples why Halo Wars kills canon.
