NIRVANA XtheXmonsterX Nirvana Supports CTF, Slayer, Oddball, KOTH, Territories, Assault, Infection; Works best with FFA. Description So I was playin' this other game Bungie made back in the day, maybe you've heard of it: Marathon (If you haven't, it's available on XBLA. Just the second game in the series though for some reason). Anyway, I was screwin' around with the multiplayer maps, and I thought to myself, "Wow, these are some pretty kick-ass maps for an old skool FPS! Bungie should remake some of these for the next H3 map pack." Then I found out that They wouldn't be making any more H3 maps. I therefore, took it upon myself to remake my favorites, forge style. This is my first attempt at a remake map. It's a near exact replica of Marathons Shangri La. At first, I tried to aproximate the weapon spawns as best I could, but then I thought, 'screw it' and did my own version. These pictures are actually posted on my myspace page; It saves room in my file share. Overview Center Interior 1 Interior 2 Download Nirvana --- Forgot to mention, this map is recomended for 2 - 8 players for team games, up to 12 for FFA.
If the map's walls are that tall, it is incredibly easy to jump out of the map. This makes the map breakable and allows players to jump on the ceiling to kill other players. In Marathon, the weapon layout might be accurate, but I also believe that was when you fight waves of enemies where they outnumber you greatly... On Halo though, the weapons are placed so that there are tons of power weapons sitting next to each other in the middle. This makes gameplay boring because one player gets 2 rockets and a sword in the middle...
for some odd reason, i really like this idea. just hallways and walkways symmetrically about in a square. but as the last guy said, you can jump out of the map. make the barriers double high.
Well I do know that they at least remade a map, and changed but a few things on one of the multiplayer maps. And remade it into Halo 2. I remember playing on it and saying to my self," Hey! This map looks fairly familiar! I know, its from Halo 2!"
I thought about the wall height while I was building it, but the amount of time it takes to grenade jump up there leaves you vulnerable for too long. Even if you do make it up there, it's not like you can go anywhere else and I figure if you can make it up on the wall you deserve the small advantage it gives you. --- And it's rockets and a flamethrower in the middle.
From the pictures, it seem slike the map is a maze of different passage ways. Which could be pretty confussing to many people. So I do not know how this will work that well until I give it a try.
