I have decided that I'm gonna go ahead and make one final map before halo reach comes out. Problem is I have three ideas which I would like your opinions on. 1. Type: Conquest/Asset Descrp: large map located in the dunes of sandbox. The main idea for it comes from the Atacami Desert map from BFBC2. The map contains a giant, beached ship that is half destroyed and rusting away. And yes I will attempt to set it up for both a conquest variant and asset convoy. 2. Type: Competitive Descr: enclosed map in the look of a large underground train station. There would be multiple levels, corridors, ramps, train station things, maybe some trains stopped in the station. 3. Type: FFA Slayer Descr: a 7x7 grid of columns, but the whole things has been tilted at angle. This would make for interesting gameplay as you would never be on flat ground and all you can see is columns.
I would go with 2. Conquest and Asset kinda died down now and they have been beaten to death in my opinion. I just personally get bored of FFA too.
Wow all of these sound interesting. I guess it would be cool to see a map that can support both asset and conquest. But IMO I think it would be cooler to see that underground train station, so I would have to go with #2.

I would love to make number 1 but at the same time there is only about 1 and a half months to build, test and perfect a map. We'll see. I'm overseas for about 2 more weeks so when I get back I'll see what I can do. Right now I'll plan.

I think the scene from Red Faction: Guerrilla where he's in a massive pipeline. It would be very vertical based and meant for Slayer and CtF. You could go inside the pipes and a large platform in the middle would have the rockets. There will also be a factory on both sides for Close Quarters Combat. Well, what do you think?
Youve never played sandtrap before?????? Best vehicular and snipers map EVER!!!! On a more related topic, could you explain the third one better? Do you mean its only got one floor and a hella ton of collumns, or is it like an actual building built around said collumns?
Not what I had in mind. A Phantom and an Albatross don't count. I'm talking a full-size crashed spaceship.
Its a giant tanker boat like the one in Acari Desert (BFBC2). I know what Im going to do. I havnt been able to think up a suitable layout for the train map but I have thought of how the giant beached ship could look. Im going to go and make number 1 but... it wont been setup for asset. Only conquest (slightly altered variant, will need to test) and team slayer, bomb (1 bomb and multibomb) and ditto with flags. The problem with setting up for asset is that rules out any other asymmetrical variants being suitable for the map (in one bomb you could end up spawning in the brute loadout area). The map will be large enough (hopefully) for all 16 players. I hope you guys like my choice, so in approx 1 week when Im home Ill get to work! Also on a side note, asset would be crazy in reach as you have access to customisable loadouts! -- I have made a basic design for my map
