lol, I used to play this game until they made you do battle.net and mine got all messed up. I was level 80 tauren hunter Korgath, full naxx 25 tier gear, some ulduar.
So I just downloaded this game and made an elf rouge on a PVP server for newbies called mediva or something. I found an assassination build here. Anybody want to give me tips, or tell me that the realm I picked is terrible? Also is that a good build? I really have close to no idea how this game works. The only reason it makes sense to me is because I played Runescape at one point which has a few similar game mechanics. There are some more builds here to if somebody more knowledgeable than me is willing to help me find one. My goal is to just have a lot of fun. I assume PVP is the most fun aspect of WoW since I don't really enjoy grinding.
Well, you want to choose whatever you like. Look at all the specs (every move or just for the next 10 levels or so) and then see which one you like the most. If you see some mean moves at the end of the spec and you know that's you, go that so you get used to it. If you like the start of another spec better, go that till the one you want gets better then change to it. If your dps is bad at max level that's when you look up specs and rotations. I miss the good old days on my old PvP server. I was like an addict on wow. It was like suddenly stopping a 10 year drug addiction when I left. I miss it . I would join back but I won't know all the old people I used to know and the guy I hung out with the most doesn't play wow anymore. I wish I could go back in time to the good old days....
That seems like a terrible idea, because then you have a lvl 80 character that is not as good as it could be. I'd rather get it right the first time.
If that's what you want to do then that's what you want to do. I prefer to play the game how I want to play it not how other people "say" I should play it. If I want to blow stuff up I blow stuff up! If I want to play as a lock without fear then I play as a lock without fear! None of my 80s have specs people told me to use and they used to always be top dps till all that wotlk BS where my guild and our months of 80 raiding logged on after a new patch to be majorly out geared by people that were 79 yesterday (why I left). Anyway, it would only take 10-30 mins to find and get used to an "80 spec" on a dummy when you hit 80.
Mine is Blazeiken100@yahoo.com for RiD. I play Horde on Thrall, Guildmaster of The World of Warcraft Armory - Wafflian @ Thrall - Guild Roster
Ive been wanting to get back into WoW for Cata, but then I realized the subscription plus Cata and Lich King would set me back quite a bit.
I'm actually playing this right now, started my trial last Friday. (Level 20, 10 Gold, Trial Maxed my two Pros., and trial maxing my secondary pros.) might upgrade all the way to Cat. tonight.
...I have a decision. A year of gold, or a year of this... I thinking gold...But I may change my mind. Ive played the trial, and ive played at my friends house, and its awesome....
In case you're becoming interested in getting started a huge recommendation from me is to find a server with a community that fits you. I got a lot more out of the game from interacting with awesome people in a pretty cool guild. Along with that, another huge plus would be having a computer that can run the game rather smoothly. Unfortunately I do not have that pleasure, but wow is actually very beautiful if you can handle it.
heh. im on a mac im gonna get cata tomorrow i think. atm though, im having trouble with this dungeon with like 8 million ghouls
I'm in a guild that suits me! My guild is called "Your Mommas A Horde" Alliance-Ghostlands And Neoshadow... I must mention that wow is far more expensive then gold, however I have my gold account active and I use it maybe once every 2 weeks with wow!
wow is definitely worth it, even though its more expensive. but it runs well and blizzard to 10x a better job than microsoft at maintaining their serers and stuff. although i wish they would sort out their digital distribution methods and sell cd-keys. i have all the data but its not auth'd :/ gonna have to buy the actual disc! it would save them money and the world some CO2
God dammit, I want to play this game. I stopped playing shortly after TBC, and I've heard that through WotLK, Cat, and all the updates that have gone into the game since then, it's simply a much better, different game. Unfortunately, last time I played this it became an addiction and I just don't have the time anymore. Sadfaic :C
Yeah, I quit during BC too, but all this relentless advertising is making me want to play again lol. Only reason I haven't yet is I'd have to shell out the cash for 2 expansions back to back only to reach the level cap in a month or two and once again face the dilemma where I can't have fun playing "casually" (read: with idiots and children) and I'm unwilling to put in the time to play on a more hardcore level. Same thing happened last time, I hit 70, got fed up with the dumbasses in the casual guilds, and any guild that demanded competency from its members also demanded several nights a week in time commitment.
