In the Halo books, when they (ONI) are creating the Spartans, they add carbon to their bones, making their bones unbreakable. This would mean that their skulls are unbreakable, too. So, why is it that Sniper rounds penetrate their skulls? They should just bounce off, realistically. If the game and book matched, headshots woulb do nothing and even if the shot did penetrate the armor (The armor is bulletproof in the books, too), it should bounce off the Spartan's skull, and only kill if the round enters the eye sockets. Is this a big flaw or what? Discuss.
Uhm. No? You can't make bones "unbreakable" you can just make them stronger. So, you're saying that a metal jacketed bullet fired from a high powered sniper rifle, that can pierce the thick metal armor of a spartan, would be easily stopped or deflected... by slightly stronger bones...
By your logic, every other part of their body would be unbreakable too. Meaning all Spartans would be invincible. How the **** would matchmaking work then? And even if my skull was made of lead, I don't think I'd feel too good if a bullet hit me in the face. /thread
This. When it comes to matchmaking, remember: Canon isn't what's important. There's clearly many things that "shouldn't" happen in MM, but for fair gameplay, things are changed.
its carbon, not adamantium. It makes their bones much more difficult to break, not indestructible. and with the thinness of the human skull, it could be made out of any metal and still be penetrated by a bullet.
actualy the spartans bones were coated with a carbide substance. carbide if about half as strong as dimond, and diamond isnt bullet proof. however diamond is very brittle and shaters easily. carbide isnt as stong but it doesnt shatter. but shooting a carbide is equivilent to shooting bulletproof glass it balloons. it would then baloon into the skull destroying the brain. but the bullet should not come out the other side
