    Description:

    Firefight
Firefight is our group's (G043R, Mr Ipod Touch, CaptnSTFU, and Nixaguy) submission to the February challange as well as our new gametype we will be making a huge map pack for. Now I know you may be thinking great another infection game that is supposed to resemble ODST's firefight. Well no, this gametype may be the most accurate firefight gametype yet.
    Resemblances
In firefight your team has a certain number of lives and the covenant does not. In this game you will be playing 2 Rounds of firefight. I mean rounds as in Firefight rounds (not the actual game settings). Each ODST has 3 lives and each covenant has 10. At the begining of the game you will fight of a small wave of grunts. This is the first round. Everytime you kill a grunt he respawns and gets more weapons. The rounds end with a Chieftain or Hunter (CPU). By this time the covenant are out of weapons and start as grunts again. We used a BR in place of the pistol just like in asset. There was no way to make the pistol stronger to resemble ODST settings so we swaped it with a BR.

    CaptnSTFU's description of the gametype

The map hosts 4v4 but be ready more larger scale Firefight maps will be added later.

Okay here is the synopsis of the gametype Fire Fight:

The gametype as i said is based of the Halo 3 ODST Firefight mode, it uses a variant of VIP (due to slayer gametype issues). The VIP has nothing and i mean nothing to do with the game, although being VIP its set up to work as slayer. At the beginning of each round the ODST's die a certain number of time (on my map its 6 times) this takes away from their 10 life count for each round. The whole goal is for the ODST's to kill the covenant, and the covenant to kill the ODST's. ODST's are stronger than the Covenant but due to their lack of lives they must work together to win. The whole basis of the game is for the ODST's to protect their spawn points from a Covenant overflow. Each kill gains a team 1 point, at the end of the 4 round the team with the most points wins.

    Classes:

The covenant spawn with different classes (much like Asset) the classes for this map are as of follow.

    Brute regular
    Brute Stalker
    Brute Chieftain
    Hunter
    Grunt
    Jackal

As you can tell from the class system (pending on if you play the map or not) the Covenant must fight for their classes, not literally but you all share certain weapons.

Superclasses aka Hunter and Chieftain spawn later on in the rounds, so any surviving ODST's have a harder time to survive.

    The Spawn System
The ODST spawn system is something that took alot of thought and we were very exited about releasing. The ODSTs start the game in a killball and spawn inside it 7 times before it is blocked off ant they can spawn somewhere else. Blocking there other spawns are fusion coils that explode letting the ODSTs into the game.

The map is extremely eye-catching and I think next time, you should put a pic of this at the start, just to take full advantage of that fact. The Spawn system looks really neat although I can picture playing this with my friends and them getting really annoyed and asking me what's going on, nonetheless I think its a fantastic idea so great job. The map itself is great and I love the climb-able cliff. There better be a cave like you promised though! 5/5

It looks great I think I am going to dl right now. At first it kinda looked jumbled up but I didn't take a close look at this amazing forgery. I give it a 4.999999 overall

Awesome looking map to say the least. I awlays love the cave/mountain/rocky surface maps. I personally never played a lot of asset but this looks like a good map to play it on. I just have one question. Where do the covenant spawn? (sorry if it is in the post) I couldn't tell, was it at the top of the waterfall?

(kinda late comments but oh well haha) no the Covenant spawn in the phantom drop ships, well they spawn on the main floor of sandbox with multiple classes available and more open up as the game goes on (cough cough Hunter class cough cough) and then via teleporter to the phantom to kill the ODST, this isn't actually Asset its just Asset inspired, i do have an Asset version that i haven't released though.
