Whoa, i never thought about that. That would be crazy. Dominating marines until the boss round came and you had to take on spartans. Maybe even some mongoose marines w/ rockets..... tasty.
I thought it was Beachfront, not Beached. Anyway, here are some interesting things I noticed... -Pause at 2:49. Look in the bottom left corner. It says 'Picked up Plasma Rifle.' So the Plasma Rifle is back, even though it has a replacement (Plasma Repeater). WTF? -When he is driving the wraith, look at the armor ability circle. The wraith has an armor ability, which is obviously the boost power. That's actually pretty convenient if you ask me. -Look at the crosshair when he is driving the wraith. Whenever he shoots, part of the crosshair disappears, then slowly recharges to signal you can shoot again. Again, pretty convenient. -Look at the armor ability he has and look when he uses it. According to Bungie it's called a Drop Shield. Looks more like a Bubble Shield to me. -The intense final-wave music is back! -Brutes? I thought Brutes joined the Covenant military in Halo 2? -Look in the bottom right corner. Infinite lives? That seems like it would make Firefight a bit too easy. Has Bungie overdone the new Firefight customization?
They clearly said this months ago. The plasma repeater was too dominant in campaign, so they said they kept the plasma rifle as a less crazy backup. They clearly gave the smaller infantry of the covenant elites the smaller gun. Just adds more variety. They can call it whatever the hell they want. No.
Except for the point about Brutes only joining the Covenant military in Halo 2., that just hasn't been discussed because its wrong. The Elites and Brutes aren't too friendly with each other. Even in Halo 2 there wasn't a squad of Brutes and Elites. We only saw Elites in Halo CE because the Arbiter-to-be "followed with all the ships in [his] command". He probably only had command of Elite ships.
Most clear answer: The brutes were in the covenant far before Halo 2's storyline. They just weren't in Halo:CE. They joined before UNSC loss in Harvest and I believe that they were noted as the ones that started the entire war in Halo Wars. They were also in Halo Wars which is 20 years before Halo:CE. Source Bungie wants to give people full customization for gameplay. This doesn't mean that Bungie's default Firefight or matchmade firefight will be this way. If you really want to, you can make yourself invulnerable with unlimited rockets and lasers for Firefight.
It's just an idea here, but i think they might only rank highscores for Firefight games in Matchmaking. That's not to say you have to play with randomers, maybe you can just enter with 4 people and be thrown in a game with default settings.
I'm trying to find a video or article to confirm this but I can't seem to find one. Maybe you guys know; will we get credits for Firefight games in matchmaking?
Yea but i think i heard somewhere that matchmaking firefight will only be one set long. So if they are going with that idea, the leaderboards will be about who can hog the most kills in that set given. Hopefully, they will make the leaderboards for people who play the default gametype. then when some popular, user-made gametypes come out, there will be leaderboards for those
I'd bet if there is an "elite firefight" you'll be considered the "heretics" rather than fighting UNSC. Jus sayin
I dont have confirmation, but it seems only natural that you'll get credits for any game you play, matchmaking or not. It has been confirmed you'll make credits in campaign, so why wouldnt you in firefight, let alone matchmaking firefight?
