This would be my remake of Skidrow for the Foreign Treasures Contest. I haven't really got a full test on it yet, so I'm not sure how well it plays yet. Here's an overview that shows where each picture was taken at: Oh, BTW, I'm planning on releasing Culmination, my other map, after this one is done. I haven't really gotten around to actually getting recent pictures and organize a thread.
This is awesome Cory! In my opinion, COD has always done a nice job with their map layouts, I just can't stand the actual game itself. You've done an amazing job of remaking Skidrow. I give you even more credit for doing this so nicely because most if not all of COD's maps are somewhat destroyed for that war-style look and your reake is still easily defined at first glance. Some Team SWAT will probably be fun here. I hope the gameplay works well with the map and I'm thinking this will go far in Foreign Treasures.
Your right. I'll probably change the one in I, and make it a door (making a window big enough for a Spartan, and actually look good, would be hard). I'm going to have to think about changing the one in G though. I'm going to count the number of ways in and out of each half of the map before making any adjustments. Oh, BTW, I've done some cleaning up in the are around D and H, so it doesn't look as bad as in the pictures. Anyways, thanks for the comments guys.
So this is the Skidrow remake I've been hearing about. It's all miniature like jakob hunter's Afghan remake. Lolz Not saying miniature is a bad thing... Nice remake cory, it looks like an excellent version of Skidrow. LD's right about those windows too, I wouldn't have noticed them in the pictures if he hadn't said anything, but they definitely effect gameplay.
I needed at least one close range weapon, but I didn't want any thing whorish like a Shotgun or Sword. I'm pretty sure the Flamethrower is probably the best close range weapon for this map.
Map Preview. That means he's not done yet, like all the Maps in Forge Discussion, here you can find Preview, Sketchups or just basic Ideas of Maps, for complete Maps, go here. But expect to see the Map there soon, as it is part of a contest that ends July 1st
