Hey I was wondering, has anyone ever made a map where zombies ride mongooses with swords? I just thought it might be a cool idea and if no one has I would like to be the one to ruin the idea :D

Okay, Im gonna elaborate. It would be on sandbox probably, maybe on sandtrap so we can bring back a classic. Not much forging would be needed, but it needs to have a couple of mongooses and some humans with shotguns. The zombies spawn near mongooses, with swords. One drives, one gets on the back. They drive round attacking people, and it looks sorta like jousting, which is what gave me the name. The humans have to shoot the zombies on the back before the zombies hit them with the swords. The humans probably wouldnt need a base, otherwise they would be able to hide, and the mongooses wouldnt be able to reach them

There was a game on bungie favs a while back. I didn't have an actual game on it but it was a good idea. Mind you the forging was fairly average

I started forging a medieval map with a bunch of medieval gametypes involved. I had jousting where there was an oval with a small wall running down the middle. The teams spawned at either side and the opponents flag was in a small room. One team member got on the mongoose and the other picked up the flag and they would try to go around the oval and knock each other off. However, the idea didn't work that well because both teams had to be right up against the wall to even hit each other. That map only had three games and I couldn't think of another two so it was never released. However, putting the jousting into infection is a cool idea. I think it would be better if the humans had as much gravity as possible and had about 90% speed. Maybe the last man would have just enough speed to not outrun a mongoose (but he would have an advantage over a single mongoose attacking him since he could turn faster then them). The zombies would have to be slow so that they are encouraged to be on the mongoose. The map would have to rely heavily on aesthetics since it's a mini-game of sorts, but the humans shouldn't be able to dance around the aesthetic pieces and evade the mongooses. Finally, the zombie damage resistance should be slightly lower since it would be challenging enough for the humans.

yeah, I was thinking along the lines of that. I was thinking maybe start the humans in the skybubble with an armoury, not OP weapons tho, and put teleporters. After 30 seconds the place would be filled with killballs so as to stop camping. I dunno whether or not to open up the sand dunes though. I also think I might make a duplicate of the big temple on sandtrap, and maybe some smaller buildings. This means the zombies have to find the humans aswel as just mow them down. Still not sure though. I might try making it this week, cant now tho cuz I am at my dads and he is being a complete douchebag >.<

I like the idea of humans getting to choose the weapons, but opening up the dunes would cause games to be way too long, even if you put waypoints on the humans. The zombies should be kept in a room for 30 seconds as well, that way they cant just camp any reciever nodes you place.

Sure, I'll put some thought into it and try to pitch any ideas that I come up with. Haven't done much of a co-forge before so it should be interesting. However, I probably won't be able to forge or play at all until Wednesday or Thursday - Finals, ugh.

okeys, I dont mind waiting :)

and uhh... I did actualy start making a sort of... prototype, but the killballs decided to spawn straight away after me perfecting the design of the base, which happened to be placed over the spawn, meaning I lost the map :(

Yeah, I can't remeber where i downloaded it, but it was before any DLC and it was on Sandtrap. They had mongeese at the two tops and you started out with swords and hammers. I had the game varient forever, but i just deleted it. It wasn't infection either. Just team slayer. I made one in the sky bubble, but i sent in my xbox so i don't have it now because the Xbox arcades have internal memory cards now.

It shouldn't be that hard to make. I could make it in about an hour without interlocking.

That could be due to either the run time minimum or because in the first round of forge everything automatically spawns. Either way, I'll throw some ideas by you in a few days.

What about making the zombie health very large, but have it never regenerate?

This would work pretty well because:

    1) Shooting people off a mongoose is pretty easy.

    2) If zombies die too easily, it could cause intense frustration, as they would have to get back up on their Mongoose. Also, if only the zombie riding behind was shot, the other zombie would have to exit the Mongoose, and would have nothing to do.

    3) Mongooses respawn rather slowly regardless of what they are set to, so you might as well use them to their full potential.

Also, humans should probably be at 150% gravity, with 90% or 100% speed, as that would be just enough jumping power to leap over a sword-wielding Mongoose rider, and just enough speed to evade dumb drivers and better position yourself.

Zombies should definitelybe slower then usual, but still fast enough to not waste too much time if they accidentally flip over. I'd also advise one-hit kills, as there is absolutely no lunge whatsoever on a Mongoose.

Focus on Aesthetics, but only after perfecting the Gameplay.

    Hope I've been of help,
    HarisSales.

I made a plan GT last night, and the zombies had 300% resistance with no shields. The thing is, I am unsure what to do with weapons. Shotgun+Sniper+SMG are definate. Unsure whether to use Brute shot, or any other weapons. Brute Shot would have 0 extra clips, and would be used in emergencies but I dunno yet.

With the humans, I had 100% resistance, 100% grav and 200% speed. Seeing how a mongoose goes roughly 300, It felt like they worked well. But now I think about it, I might make it 150, then the last man has 200. Last man also as 50% grav.
