I lol'd at this, you're really not getting it. No, it doesn't. Seriously, it doesn't work like that at all. You're not going to do very well if that's how you play it. Sure if you're at close range, go for it. But at Medium and Long range. Hell no. Also, you've only played 3 games, so maybe you should play it more to actually figure out what you're doing,
I would insult your playing too but your gamertag does not exist. And when I found each weapon I tried shooting it at a wall to see the bullet holes for the spread and to check their respective fire rates. If you actually play a game strictly to find out about the weapon it will surprise you how much you can find in a single game. Much more than playing like the normal person who just runs out and tries to shoot people.
Yeah that's all well and good, except you are wrong. Simple as that. Unless you're calling Bungie liars and they don't even know how their own game works. Oh and the fact that the game mechanics are also proving you wrong. It simply does not work like that. You can just fire off your gun and the fastest rate you want and expect them all to hit dead center. Firing the DMR at the fastest rate you can is a bad idea [unless of course at close range, it probably wont matter]. Also, doing it with the Magnum is idiocy.
I never tried to pull the trigger as fast as I could, because I realized that's not how the DMR works. Like someone else said, pace yourself.
Me and my friends just had an epic 2-box/5-man Reach Beta sesh tonight, and we actually switched back to 3 for a couple of games to mix it up. It was fun, and the BR felt good after a couple of minutes readjusting. Plus, when we went back to Reach, the slowed RoF on the BR got me firing at a better rate with my DMR instinctively, I was hitting consistent 5 shots even at medium-long range for the rest of the night. One thing though, going back to the BR makes you realise how weedy it sounds and how badass the DMR sounds.
The BR was way to powerful in my opinion in Halo 3. I really love the balance in weapons in reach besides that huge cannon that fires those plasma bursts or whatever.
Don't worry about Red Army. He just always has a stick up his ass, constantly harassing and criticizing everyone because of his anger issues. Ignoring him is probably the best thing to do.
To be honest, I still dont miss the Battle Rifle. Every time I play Halo 3, I realize how nerfed the other weapons are. No one uses anything BUT the BR because nothing else even serves its purpose, and the BR is so powerful that it serves all purposes. The DMR is cooler, more skillful, and even sounds better. It isnt over nor underpowered, and is very clearly designed for one type of combat. Balance is restored and every weapon is used again.
The DMR is cool and all, but I can never finish a fight without reloading or pulling out my secondary. Adding 1 more shot in it's clip would be awesome.
Dam straight. I don't believe you can have the capacity to appreciate the BR if you aren't referring directly to Halo 2.
I appreciate the BR from Halo 3. I appreciate the DMR in Reach. The BR in Halo 2 is awesome. oh, and I appreciate that too. Seriously though. While the DMR replaces the awesome all-purpose kill machine that is the Battle Rifle, it is a worthy successor. Hopefully the search for and usage of alternative weapons will present a superior experience.
