So from what I can tell, this game was made for the 360 and ported to the PS3. The draw distance for the PS3 version seems shorter and the detail isn't quite as good. The PS3 version seems blurrier and a bit darker than the 360 version. Also the PS3 textures don't seem as high a quality as the 360 version. Anyway, what do you guys think about this game? I think that Red Dead Redemption is the best open world game to have been released ever. Actually, I take that back, I think it's the best game to have been released ever. Within an hour I was in Free Roam mode with two of my other friends holding out waves of lawmen on the roof of a building in Blackwater. You can hunt animals (Bears are the best to hunt...), you can invade bandit towns, everything you do in Free Roam earns experience towards leveling your character up. Even killing random civilians will earn you experience! Once I was thrown off my horse by an attacking cougar, and I laughed, I wasn't pissed, that was the funniest thing I'd ever seen. I love this game to death, and honestly, I feel bad that the PS3 finaly has got worse graphics than the 360, but they really don't seem that noticable. You think this is why they recieved bonus content?
It sucks that they received the bonus content, though in fairness the 360 games usually get the bonus content. All it really means is that Sony paid them more than Microsoft. Don't worry, the 360 will get the DLC eventually.
I don't mind that they recieved an extra outfit, I like my character right now. I'ma try and get Insane to get this game... He know how to get a crap load of people into the game within seconds. Do you love this game as much as me?
I haven't actually got it yet, but I plan on. Though probably can't for a couple weeks yet, unfortunately.
I may get it eventually but I'll probably wait until I save up some more money again and sometime after I return from my trip to Persa-Con that I might take a look at it again. It's at the very least a rent from me since I can rent it for a few days for free and it will give me the knowledge I need to talk about while at work.
****ing awesome game. So much to do, and so easy to get side tracked into things not even revolving around a mission. But honestly, side by side comparisons of games piss me off. Most of the time, I can hardly tell the difference between the two, and often they simply look different from one another, not better or worse than. And honestly, the last thing I'm thinking about when deciding on PS3 vs 360 when buying a game is how the hair textures are nicer on the PS3 or how the 360 has slightly richer colors.
red dead, ****ing AWESOME game. my new favorite of pretty much all time. i hope some DLC will be new strangers missions etc etc. and the ability to play the minigames like poker and black jack and five finger fillet with your friends online. the only quarrel with the game i have, well two actually, is the fact that you cant play single player with a friend (co-op would be SICKLY with it) and the ending. john over jack anyday!
