I'm trying to get back into 3-D animation so I don't forget how to do it.

To my surprise, I've actually managed to get 45,000 views on a MW2 video I put on YouTube, so I figured I might as well make some sort of a video introduction for the future. Please let me know what you think.

Its a little to bland and simple for me. I suggest doing something like your sig and those ribbons flow in behind the text, but make them brown and shades of green like a ghillie suit after the "gun" is fired.

I understand, but it was never meant to be anything very complicated. Just a quick intro before cutting to my videos.

Still, I'll keep messing with this. Any other comments?

What program are you using? It's a good start, but the sounds are meh and it doesn't look all that professional.

3ds Max 8 for the 3-D, Camtasia Studio 6 for the minor editing.

I really like the principle, it's exactly what such an intro should be: concise and distinctive. But I agree with Hari that it lacks that sleek, professional quality. I also agree that the sounds could be better, if you could get some higher quality replacements with a bit more bass/depth to them it'd help the overall effect.

I'm not sure I like the drumroll. As it stands, along with the lower quality sounds, it has a kind of Worms vibe about it (imagine it with Team 17 as the text and you'll see what I mean). Cool as this is, it'd kind of need to gesture slightly more that way to make it work, and even then it's a bit of a one trick pony. I'd also say it could do with some kind of sound when the words meet, not talking WWE style crashes and sparks, but just something to give it a little more definition. You should remember that in simple sequences like this, sounds can help to give a sense of physical scale in a way, and whilst you don't want to go all out like I said above, I feel it's lacking a little something in that area.

I don't care too much for the text either. It's not awful by any means, simple and pretty clean looking, and the colours are fine tbh. But I'm not too keen on the wavy style of the font, and I think it could do with looking a bit more ... 3D I guess. I feel that a more blocky font would work better with the movement, with the letters having a bit more horizontal depth as well.

Still, as I say, I like the simple idea, it's bang on for the purpose.

Thanks for the great feedback, Pegasi. I'll definitely take another look at this animation with your suggestions in mind.

As far as the drum roll goes, I wanted that first sound effect to be this one, maybe minus the pick slide. In short, I foolishly rendered the animation before choosing which sounds to put in and eventually decided that the guitar chord wouldn't work. I'm not sure what you think of that sound effect either, but that's the one I had in mind at least.

I wish the text would have taken longer to get on the screen or was thicker because you could hardly tell it was 3d. No offense intended. Im horrible with 3d animation so this is still better than anything i could do.
