    Download the game type here.
    AvMvP

    Download the map here.
    AvMvP: Airlock

AvMvP is an Infection game variant.

    Humans = Marines
    Zombies = Aliens
Predators are a special gameplay element that can be acquired through a custom powerup and/or by becoming the Last Man Standing.

This game is designed to be a competition. Always keep that in mind when playing. You score points by killing enemies. You can prevent "allies" from scoring points by killing them. (There are other less obvious ways to achieve this as well.) Betrayals and the relationships you build with the other players are intended to be part of the game. Work together to survive, act alone to win.

    Point System
0 Betrayal penalty (Blast away if you feel its in your best interest, just beware of the consequences.)
    +1 for killing an Alien
+2 for an Alien infecting a Marine and/or Predator (To balance out the fact that infecting your enemies decreases your odds and ability to score larger numbers compared to that of the other player types.)

    Health does not recharge
-1 Suicide penalty (To urge people to keep from killing themselves to regain health and ammo. This can still be done however, and it is up to the player to apply this method as they see fit. For the Marines, in conjunction with the negative point penalty, they will also respawn in a hostile environment near the alien respawn area in a confined area with no cover. It’s a gamble that you need to consider before you choose to take this action.)

The number of Aliens that begin each round is 25% of your party size.
The points leaders of those rounds become the Aliens for the next.

    Character Traits & Abilities
Marine: Green armor, assault rifle, grenades, vehicle access, motion tracking set at 25 meters and normal, waypoint visible to allies.

Alien: Black armor, sword, plasma pistol (Green Acidic Blood) (Note that the Health and Damage system is built so that several shots will actually kill the opposing players), no radar, waypoint visible to allies, 200 % player speed, 75% gravity, headshots to the Aliens will not do higher damage.

Predator (powerup): Brown armor, gravity hammer and spartan laser located with powerup, no vehicle access, active camo, enhanced 75 meter motion tracking, no visible waypoint, 150% player speed, 75% gravity. (The trade off for the added stealth and tracking of the powerup comes with a little more vulnerability in damage resistance than the Marines)

Predator (Last Man Standing): Brown armor, 500% damage resistance, 3X overshields, 50% slower shield recharge rate, poor camo, enhanced 75 meter motion tracking, waypoint visible to enemies, 150% player speed, 75% gravity. (The damage resistance and overshields may seem like it will make the last man standing a lot harder to kill, but its really not when the enemies all have swords and plasma pistols and are all after the same person. It will still take a number of shots and sword strikes to take the Predator down, which makes for a whole, going down fighting, winner takes all, epic feel to the end of each round.)

    The Map - AvMvP:Airlock
Warning! Hostile breach in Hangar A-2 maintenance tunnel. All military personnel report. Depressurization of hangar is imminent.

The setting takes place in a pressurized military hangar that has come under attack by the Aliens. Its inspired by the final battles in a few of the Alien movies where in order to survive they trap the Alien in an airlock and then everything gets sucked out into space. (I think it was in 1,2, and 4 where they used some variation of this approach.) Really, I just wanted to battle it out in an unstable environment that the player could tactically use to their advantage, but could also be as much a threat to them as their enemies. So I came up with the whole AvMvP idea and built it all around that.

The Aliens spawn and respawn in the same area located on the outside section of the map seen here.

Access to the inside is sealed off, and it is up to the Aliens to break into the hangar through either of the two possible entrances available to them. The first is that clearly open section in the maintenance tunnel. The missing piece had been blown open by the Aliens but it will seal itself up 10 secs after the start of the game.

When sealed, the Aliens can then either use their acid to blast that section apart again by shooting the fusion coils placed in front of it. (Rapidly firing the plasma pistol and hiting the center coil works the best.) Or they can turn their attention to the main attraction in the center of the map, the storage hangar, which is sealed off by the two blast doors shown below.
Its the same idea to blow open the doors from here. Notice the fusion coil directly between the doors. Rapidly fire onto that and the doors will launch forward onto the man cannons and then propel themselves over the cliff side. (Once in a while the doors might snag for a second or two on the man cannons and if so, just stand along their side and give a couple punches. It isn’t a big deal really and it usually fixes itself after a few seconds anyway. I just figured I should give the heads up before hand.)

With that, the Alien attack is on.

The Marines spawn on either side of opposite ends of the map located in front of the large green doors where the Warthogs and Mongooses used to be.

As a slight penalty for dying without becoming infected for whatever the cause may be, the Marines will respawn with their assault rifle just inside either entrance to the maintenance tunnel near the Aliens respawn.
As you can see from the image, the results of this could be deadly due to the confines of the tunnel walls. Your exit will be to your backside, or if you are quick and you want to try your luck, there are shotguns located near the center of the tunnel a little ways in front of you where the Aliens could come through. It’s risky, but it could give you a fighting chance to get out of there alive.

Now when you first spawn in as a Marine and begin to look around, you'll notice that there appears to be very little of anything that would keep you alive for very long outside of teamwork formed from loose alliances and your rapidly depleting ammunition. The Alien threat is coming and its coming fast. If you wish to buy some time and slow them down in the tunnel you could trigger a momentary barricade shown in the images below. Just pick up the Battle Rifle off of the ground and blast the fusion coils.

But like I just stated, this is only a quick fix that may not even work 100 percent of the time depending on where the pieces land. They'll eventually get through, or find another way around, and when they do you better hope you have enough distance and ammunition to make the assault rifle you start off with effective. If you want to survive long enough to even attempt to win this thing, you know you need better weapons. All of this is designed to push the action towards the main focal point of the map, the pressurized hangar located in its center. Everything you could find to be useful in your fight, whether its weapons, vehicles, and Predator powerups, is located in there.

I always try to arrange my maps with a big risks = big rewards ideology. This map is no different. Observe your environment. If something appears enticing, beware, for death too is near by. The more desirable something appears, the more deadly the situation surrounding it.

On the ground floor you’ll notice a shotgun, rocket launcher, battle rifle, and a fire grenade all on the blast door side past the forklift.

    Cargo Hangar Level 1
    [IMG]

The opposite end contains two Warthogs and a Scorpion below the storage shelves.

The Warthogs are meant to be able to get out through the side doorways.

    Escape Route
    [IMG]

It’s not meant to be easy.

    Worth the Risk
    [IMG]

As for the Scorpion, its’ inclusion was to both be a way for the player to cover and dominate the main entrance from invasion as well as for making one huge wicked projectile on it’s own when moved.

The rewards here are meant to be earned, and remember, you’re not the only one after them. Allies quickly become enemies when your own survival is at stake.

I have to go out for a little while, the remainder of the description will be typed later tonight

like how you recreated the depressurization.also very nice with the barricade and fusion coils.but there seems to be some epmty space maybe in a v2 you could add some more stuff from the movies to make it cooler

i love aliens but im not such a big fan of predators so im glad this is an infection match because the aliens will always win in the end! How do you make the depressurization happen becuase it looks very inpressive?
