    Shifting Sand Version 2

    Shifting Sand V2

Shifting Sand was my very first serious forged map that I put a lot of pride, time, and effort into. It isn't perfectly forged, but it is the best I am going to make it. The main purpose for the map was that I wanted a map that I could call my own, and I just decided to make a symmetrical map.
    Overview
    -UPDATED-

    Weapon/Equipment List:

    • Battle Rifle x2
    • Magnum x6
    • SMG x4
    • Mauler x1
    • Brute Shot x1
    • Plasma Rifle x2
    • Spiker x2
    • Sniper x2
    • Sentinel Beam x1
    • Mongoose x2
    • Deployable Cover x1
    • Spike Grenade x4

    Symmetrical Sections

    -UPDATED-

Shifting Sand is primarily used for 2v2 to 5v5 slayer, CTF, or one bomb, although it may support more, I haven't tested it with more than 10 people yet. The map is also based loosely off of Blood Gulch, with the caves and sniper-oriented bases.

    Points Of Interest
    -UPDATED-
    Red Cave
    Leads to Brute Shot Spawn
    [IMG]
    Brute Shot Spawn
    With camping trap
    [IMG]
    Sentinel Beam Spawn
    On top of Blue Mountain
    [IMG]

    Neutral Cave
    [IMG]
    Sniper Spawn
    On top of each base

The reasoning of the fusion coils in the Brute Shot spawn is so that players do not camp the area.

Any and all criticism is appreciated and considered, as long as it is constructive.

I love how there's no sand but okay, first off there's just not enough in it to be complete. What you do have looks fairly nice, but I can't say I'm a fan of your 'camping trap' just because it isn't very aesthetically pleasing to be honest. May I suggest adding just a sortive back door? Anyways good job and try to work on a second version

This map does seem very empty. There is a massive area in the top left of the first picture that just doesn't have anything in it. You should go back and spend a few more hours depleting your budget and objects and filling up the map more.

Thanks for the advice, I recently started a V2, i got rid of the camping traps, and I added in different routes for the sniper and brute shot spawns. Right now, I'm working on merging most of the elements, so the map looks a lot cleaner, and I'll see what I can do to fill the map up a bit more.

It's not as astheseticly pleasing as the par maps featured on our site here. Nice post though. Keep on forging.

Updated it quite a bit, it still isn't 100% complete, but it is more presentable now.
